Rapper Azealia Banks and her legal team have shared a cease and desist notice with Matty Healy and his legal team, demanding an apology for their recent feud on social media. Furthermore, Banks is seeking $1 million from Matty as a settlement, having posted the letter on X on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

The letter stated:

"Upon information and belief, although you do not know my client personally and my client does not know you, you acted intentionally with the specific purpose of causing my client to be shocked, distressed and emotionally injured with your assaults by the threat of imminent physical harm.”

It continued:

“Your overt racial epithets (e.g., calling her a "rat") and repeated threats of violence against my client constitute cyber harassment and cyberbullying and violate various Federal and state laws."

As soon as the letter went viral, multiple netizens reacted to the situation, noting that Banks asked to resolve the matter with Matty “without court intervention.” An X user, @PopBase, shared a copy of the notice sent by Azealia Banks, to which another user responded:

“She couldn't handle the heat this time lol.”

Many others called her an “attention seeker” and stated:

“Attention seeker he wasn't even serious,” added one.
“Doing anything to promote her new song,” wrote another social media user.
“Can she share when she will get a life next,” said another X user, mockingly.

Furthermore, many social media users commented on how Azealia should “review her posts on X” before complaining about others.

“She should take a long hard look in the mirror and review her own posts on x,” commented a netizen.
“Jobless and broke! That's why she is suing for a million dollars,” wrote another social media user.
“Azalea makes it really hard to be a fan! She needs to delete her social media and focus on her music for a while,” stated one more.

More details about Azealia Banks’ feud with Matty Healy explored

The cease and desist notice to Matty Healy came shortly after a feud erupted between him and Azealia Banks earlier last week. It all started when Banks posted against Charli XCX, claiming that she “used to be soooo pretty.” Noticing the tweet, Matty Healy sided with Charli, responding:

“All the women you attack seem to be culturally relevant, attractive, divisive and NICE people. I think this makes you jealous cos you’re so talented but everything else about you is a failure. Just rap bro.”

In response, Azealia Banks seemingly insulted both Matty and his fiancée, Gabbriette Bechtel, referring to her as “Frankenstein,” and adding:

“You both look like you share needles.”

Banks’ comments infuriated Healy, who then lost control and said:

“Talk to me like that I’m not gonna side eye you at an awards do. I’ll fuc*ing slap you so hard I’ll get a Guinness world record for the highest a rat some b*tch calls a wig has ever flown.”

However, Matty soon realized his harsh words. Not only did he delete his post, but he also deactivated his X account. Prior to this, he said:

“Nah I can’t be saying I’m gonna hit a girl that’s insane I’m sorry. You just can’t keep being so mean about my mates and my mrs it’s really hurtful gets me well defensive. Ok I’m gonna delete that tweet that was not cool even if I was angry.”

Azealia Banks hinted at taking legal action against Healy if he does not adhere to the conditions listed in the notice. Meanwhile, Matty Healy has yet to respond publicly.
