Ariana Grande has once again addressed long-standing rumors about her appearance, specifically denying that she has undergone any major cosmetic surgeries. In the latest Vanity Fair lie detector test video, released on September 30, 2023, Grande spoke candidly with her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo, shutting down speculation about procedures like a nose job and breast augmentation.

While she confirmed having used fillers and Botox in the past, Grande clarified that she stopped four years ago. The discussion quickly caught the attention of fans on social media, particularly on Reddit, where reactions to her statements were swift and varied.

Following the release of the Vanity Fair interview, many fans took to Reddit to express their thoughts on Ariana Grande’s revelations. Some fans questioned the truthfulness of her claims, while others defended her, highlighting the pressures celebrities face regarding their appearance.

One fan wrote, "She literally has a whole new face," seemingly skeptical of Grande’s denial of any major surgeries, especially given the drastic changes in her look over the years.

Another added, "I really don’t care if she got plastic surgery or not, basically everyone in Hollywood has, but lie detectors are known for being inaccurate so this isn’t a a gotcha moment for us."

However, there were those who took a more sympathetic stance.

A user commented, "My eye rolling so hard when keep hearing celebrities deny plastic surgery, injection,.. it’s ok if you have work done, it’s their body, but stop denying, lying about that. I like her old eyebrows, not sure she keep fixing it."
"I’m more concerned about her cold dead eyes tbh. The facial modifications are super obvious but her eyes have gone from filled with light to shark eyes and it’s incredibly unsettling," a fan shared concern.

Many fans denied the accuracy of the lie detector test as well.

One user wrote, "Lie detectors don't work, but luckily in this case one just needs a functioning pair of eyes."
While another fan agreed, "If lie detector results can't be brought up in court, it shows how inaccurate and trustworthy they are. Like, we have eyes."

During the lie detector segment, Erivo asked Ariana Grande several pointed questions about rumored surgeries, including a nose job and breast augmentation. Grande responded with an emphatic "No" to both, with the polygraph confirming her answers. She also humorously addressed the idea of a face-lift, saying, "No, not yet. I’m open."

Her comments on less invasive procedures were more open, admitting, "I’ve had fillers in various places, and Botox." However, she emphasized that she had stopped those treatments in 2018, sharing that she felt they had become "too much" and that it led her to a place where she felt like "hiding."

Ongoing scrutiny about Ariana Grande’s appearance

For years, Ariana Grande’s evolving appearance has been the subject of public fascination and scrutiny. From her early days on Victorious to her transformation into a global pop icon, the singer’s look has undeniably changed, leading to widespread speculation about potential cosmetic procedures.

In her Vanity Fair interview, Grande didn’t shy away from addressing this attention. "Thank goodness," she said when Erivo brought up the line of questioning. After the polygraph confirmed her sincerity, Grande jokingly added,

"This is the best day of my life. Take that, you YouTube people," directly addressing critics who’ve accused her of going under the knife.

Despite denying major procedures, Ariana Grande expressed her full support for anyone who chooses to undergo cosmetic enhancements.

"Whatever makes women, men, non-gender conforming people feel beautiful should be allowed," she explained, emphasizing that people should have the freedom to make choices about their bodies without judgment.

Ariana Grande is set to star in the highly anticipated Wicked movie, where she plays Glinda the Good Witch. The film is expected to be released in two parts, with the first scheduled to hit theaters in November 2024.

In addition to her acting pursuits, Grande has remained involved with her beauty brand, REM Beauty, continuing to launch new products and maintain her status as a beauty mogul.
