Meanwhile, once the video went viral on Instagram, netizens took to the platform to criticize Siwa.

JoJo Siwa recently broke a record on YouTube for being the most disliked artist after the former Dance Moms alum beat out Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and more for her song Karma.

The aspiring pop star posted a TikTok on July 18, Thursday, about women musicians who have had the most disliked videos on YouTube so far. While excitedly sharing the news, Jojo Siwa read out a list of this year’s most disliked music videos.

She captioned the video:

“WHAT A DAY TO CELEBRATE. KARMA BROKE A RECORD. 900% MORE THAN 2ND PLACE. A WIN IS A WIN.”

She then told the camera:

“The most disliked music video by a female artist on YouTube in 2024. Here we go. Fourth place we have Yes And by Ariana Grande with 290,000 dislikes.”

The Dance Mom alum further said that before Grande, there were 3330,000 dislikes for Perry's Woman's World, which has drawn a lot of criticism because Perry collaborated with Dr. Luke, who singer Kesha accused of r*pe and emotional abuse in 2014.

She went on to say that although Taylor Swift is regarded as the "queen of pop," she came in second place with her song Fortnight, featuring Post Malone, which also served as the lead single for her most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department and received 350,000 dislikes.

Jojo Siwa then continued after closing her laptop:

“And your number one first place overall goes to Karma by JoJo Ziva with an astonishing record-breaking 3.1 million dislikes.”

Jojo Siwa finally concluded:

“You know, I am the only person that can say I beat Taylor Swift on a list… I’ll take it.”

Nevertheless, when the video went viral on Instagram, netizens took to the platform to react to the entire thing. One user commented that her voice was “annoying”, and another one said that she was “extremely unlikable”.

Jojo Siwa has faced criticism before

This isn't the first time Jojo Siwa has come to the spotlight in recent years. Once Siwa released her song Karma on April 5, people flocked to the social media platforms to provide their opinions about her dancing routines, clothing, and voice.

Moreover, when she stated that she would love to have one of her ex-boyfriends featured on her podcast, JoJo Siwa Now, social media users made fun of her even more. They were also especially upset by her wish to create “gay-pop”.

Furthermore, many people, especially within the LGBTQ+ community, criticized her for founding the already established musical genre. In an Instagram post promoting the 21-year-old's single, Guilty Pleasure, published during the first half of July, one user reportedly stated that being a gay person, they do not claim whatever that is.

Nevertheless, Siwa hasn't shared anything on the matter since her recent video drew backlash from the netizens.
