On July 14, singer, songwriter, record producer, and model Ethel Cain took to her Instagram Story and shared an image of herself with the screenshot of an X (formerly Twitter) post by media personality and former adult film actress Mia Khalifa. The post read:
“It wasn’t Ethel Cain, she wouldn’t have missed.”
The Preacher’s Daughter songstress seemingly agreed with Khalifa’s post. The post came in the wake of viral online speculations that she was in some way involved in former U.S. President Donald Trump’s assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, during a Republican campaign rally on Saturday, July 13.
Since Cain’s Instagram Story garnered traction, the internet has been having diverse reactions. While some agreed that if she was the alleged shooter, she wouldn’t have missed, others warned her and asked her to be careful before making such posts on social media.
For instance, Reddit user @iliketoomanysingers commented under @r/Fauxmoi’s post on the same. They said:
Several others joined in the conversation and shared similar opinions. Here are some other similar comments from Reddit.
X users also chimed in and many claimed that Ethel Cain’s claim was “spot on.”
“Someone said Ethel Cain wouldn’t have missed and they’re so right,” one individual wrote.
“If it was my girl Ethel Cain, she wouldn’t have missed,” one user wrote.
"Ethel Cain wouldn't have missed the President, just saying," one fan wrote.
Ethel Cain has previously slammed the US President for providing military aid
In mid-May 2024, the Joe Biden-led administration announced that it was providing $1 billion worth of military aid to Israel amid its ongoing conflict.
In the wake of this, musician Ethel Cain took to her Instagram and made a series of controversial Instagram stories. In one, she reposted a news bulletin from the account of Democracy Now with the headline, “Biden to send $1 billion in new arms to Israel,” and captioned it:
“We need to bring back assassinations.”
In a follow-up Story, she tagged the official IG handle of President Biden and wrote, “b***h.” The Florida native further went on to explain:
"Feels like I'm taking crazy pills living in America in this day and age. Billionaires and politicians should be strung up in the street because what the hell is going on? And we can't even have a revolution because our terroristic military would crush us in a heartbeat if we tried to revolt."
The songstress also urged for “equal” experiences for all lives pled her followers not to let themselves down under the pressure of “propaganda,” and asked them to do the “right thing.”
Notably, in 2022, Ethel shared her disbelief via X when former U.S. President Barack Obama included her song American Teenager in his end-of-year culture roundup. Back then she wrote how she did not have an ex-president include her “anti-war, anti-patriotism fake pop song” on his list as part of her 2022 bingo card.
