In a recent interview with BBC, Lana Del Rey spoke about Taylor Swift and her success. Stating how Taylor Swift “wants it,” Lana Del Rey weighed in on why she is so popular amongst the masses, as she said:
“She wants it. She’s told me so many times that she wants it more than anyone. And how amazing — she’s getting exactly what she wants. She’s driven, and I think it’s really paid off.”
Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift were seen together in Swift’s 2022 album, Midnights' track Snow on the Beach. After the song’s success, Swift also released another version called Til Dawn.
Furthermore, after the massive success of Taylor Swift’s recent studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, she embarked on her Eras Tour to the United Kingdom on Friday, June 7, 2024, as she would be performing live at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, Cardiff, Wales, Liverpool, England, and then at London’s Wembley Stadium.
“Rare timeless artists”— Lana Del Rey, Raye and KT Tunstall shower praises for Taylor Swift
As Taylor Swift enjoys the success of her recently released 12th album, The Tortured Poets Department, several artists, including Lana Del Rey, Raye, and KT Tunstall praise her work and her perseverance towards singing. Talking about the same, Raye opened up to BBC and said:
“She is just one of those rare timeless artists who gets it right every time. She’s an absolute powerhouse.”
At the same time, KT Tunstall also praised Swift and said:
“She’s such a fantastic role model. “She’s got the resilience and the chutzpah to be the boss of an enormous machine, employing thousands of people. To be able to handle that and handle what’s coming at her publicly, you’ve just got to be a one-off.”
Variety reported that as Swift was about to start her tour in March 2023 in Las Vegas, she spoke about her song with Lana Del Rey, and applauded the singer for her work on the album. The You Belong With Me played the Snow on the Beach song as a surprise element for the audience, and said:
“Guys, it’s so good. You probably already know that. But it’s just extraordinary. I just think she’s the best that we have. And so I think we need to make it a priority as a group to stream, buy, support this album and this artist.”
She continued:
"I know that Del Rey knows I’m obsessed with her, and she was kind enough to make a song with me on ‘Midnights’ called ‘Snow on the Beach,’ because she’s a generous king. And she did that for me, and I’ll never forget how nice she’s been to me. It’s so cool when you have favorite artists and they turn out to be so nice to you. So anyway, I wanted to just do some promo for her.”
As Taylor Swift has already embarked on the U.K. leg of the Era’s Tour, The US Magazine reported that the tour will add more than $1.2 billion to the economy, as each fan will spend more than $1,000 per person on one ticket, travel, merchandise, and accommodation for the tour.
