"She's going to be the Willow of rap"— Fans react as Kanye's daughter, North West raps in Japanese on 'Vultures 2'

Kanye West’s daughter, North West, recently made her way in the news for her rapping skills in Japanese for her father's most recent album, Vultures 2. In the new album that dropped on August 3, 2024, North West could be heard rapping a verse of the song BOMB in Japanese.

She sang the second verse of the song:

“Ohayōgozaimasu kon'nichiwa (i~ēi, yeah) / ohayōgozaimasu kon'nichiwa (Mm - oh) / watashi no na ma e wa nōsu-chan (Oh) / watashi no na ma e wa nōsu-chan”

This can be translated into:

"Good morning / Hello (Yeah, yeah) / good morning / Hello (Mm-oh) / My name is / North-chan (Oh) / My name is North-chan”

Once the lyrics went viral, internet users reacted both positively and negatively to the entire thing. Many netizens commented positively and encouraged her.

“She’s going to be the WILLOW of rap,” commented an X user.

The X user here referred to singer Willow Smith, who is the daughter of American actor Will Smith. As a young singer, Willow won many awards.

Others also shared a similar sentiment.

“Kanye bringing this little star into the scene. Love it,” admitted one X user.

“North West is such a gentle soul. Having super star parents, i hope she finds her way,” another X user also commented positively.

“Yall hating but she's doing her thing bro she's good for her age,” said another one, supporting her.

On the other hand, some X users trolled her and criticized her.

“Shawty speaking multiple languages,” wrote another user.

“This album is trash asf damn we really lost Kanye,” another one said.

Kanye West recently dropped his album Vultures 2

After months of anticipation, hours after releasing the song Slide on yeezy.com and doing a live YouTube webcast, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign unexpectedly dropped their new album Vultures 2 on August 3 on all DSPs.

After the release of the first album in the Vultures series in February 2024, the musicians have reunited for the second installment. Additionally, the album features West's kids' rap in Japanese, and possible AI verse on the record.

Furthermore, over the course of the 16-song album, numerous guest stars appeared. Kodak Black, Playboi Carti, and Don Toliver collaborate with West for the track FIELD TRIP. In addition, Future features in the track PROMOTION, and Lil Wayne and Kanye West get back together after a long break.

Furthermore, stars like 070 Shake, CyHi, Young Thug, and Charlie Wilson have also contributed to the album by Kanye and Ty Dolla.

The album consists of songs like SLIDE, Time MOVING SLOW, FIELD TRIP, FRIED, ISABELLA, PROMOTION, HUSBAND, LIFESTYLE, MAYBE, BOMB, RIVER, 530, DEAD, FOREVER ROLLING, SKY CITY, and MY SOUL.

Additionally, Vultures 2 has come a long way since West first revealed in January that it would be the second of three albums. On February 10, Vultures 1 was released and on March 8 and April 5, the second and the third installments were scheduled for release, respectively.

However, the release of the second one was postponed for unspecified reasons. The rapper continued to postpone the album's release date multiple times. A May 3 release was hinted at multiple social media track teases.

However, the anticipated album did not arrive in May as well, and on August 2, West even hinted that it wouldn't arrive. Nevertheless, it finally did.

Meanwhile, apart from the songs, the album is also currently trending for North West’s rap in Japanese. She sang the second verse of the rap Bomb which immediately garnered the attention of the netizens.

Some encouraged her for her attempt, while others trolled her and said that it was “racist”.
