"She's living an exhausting existence"— Shania Twain heaps praise on Taylor Swift's work ethic 

Shania Twain referenced Taylor Swift in a recent exclusive interview with Haute Living. The former opened up about what it meant to her to be a “trailblazer” in the country-pop genre of music and how she sees herself living her life at the moment. In an unexpected moment, the Guiness World Record-holder also shared how she relates to Swift's career trajectory.

On Wednesday, April 17, Haute Living released their Shania Twain feature story titled Shania Twain Is Having Her Best Moment Yet In Her ‘Making The Most Of Life’ Era. While speaking about taking a risk with her The Woman in Me album and how she prefers to be her "original, authentic self," the singer mentioned Taylor Swift's work ethic.

“That girl is working her b*tt off. She is living an exhausting existence, but she'd [sic] dedicated and committed to herself, to her art, and her work. It isn’t even about ambition, though I’m sure that most people would call her ambitious; it’s about passion and committing yourself to your passion," Shania Twain on Taylor Swift's work ethic.

Twain went on to claim that both Swift and she possess similar qualities. She also added that she is proud of the latter's “perseverance” and how she does not put her talent to waste.

Shania Twain and Taylor Swift have been supportive of each other’s careers for years

This is not the first time the Forever and for Always singer has praised Taylor Swift. In January 2022, Twain congratulated Swift for breaking her long-standing Billboard Country Albums Chart record.

"Historical records are meant to be made and then broken. The baton is meant to be passed on to new generations. Unstoppable young female country artists are [flame emoji] inspite of the hurdles," Twain mentioned that she was proud of Swift via a tweet.

The following year, Swift seemingly showed her love for Twain by wearing a grungy oversized t-shirt that featured the singer's face. The Lover crooner wore an $88 Daydreamer tee with a print of Shania Twain’s 1995 Any Man Of Mine artwork.

Speaking about it, Twain said in The Drew Barrymore Show interview that she feels like she is Swift’s “aunt or something.” She also added that she has “a lot of respect and compassion” for Taylor Swift.

In 2021, Taylor Swift also publicly supported Shania Twain, as the latter was transitioning from country music to pop music. The former dedicated a TikTok video to Twain by taking part in the “Mama Said” online trend. Swift revealed in the short clip that she was inspired by Twain to make a similar musical shift.

In 2011, the duo also collaborated for the CMT Awards by creating a Thelma and Louise film parody.

It is also worth noting that Shania Twain attended Swift’s The Eras Tour Vegas concert last year.

Shania Twain’s praise for Taylor Swift comes days after fellow performer Courtney Love expressed contrasting opinions when it came to The Tortured Poets Department creator. In an interview with The Standard, Love opined that Swift was “not important" and not an “interesting” “artist.”

Meanwhile, Swift has been making headlines for her recent appearance at this year’s Coachella alongside Travis Kelce. The duo was spotted enjoying Ice Spice’s performance on Saturday, April 13, among the crowd.

Swifties are also now waiting for the release of the singer’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, which is set to hit music streaming platforms on April 19.
