On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Nicki Minaj took to Instagram to address her nose job rumors. The rapper shared a story on the social media app denying getting a nose job and further said:
"Hey guys I hope no one went and altered their nose. Honey child, I have had a what I called a pointy nose, with or without contour, with or without filter, since I was born."
Nicki further continued by recalling a statement once said by her mother. According to the rapper:
"My mother told me two things about it. She said I have a hump on my nose. She said it was a witch nose and she said it was from my Indian side."
She then went on to take a dig at people who seemingly changed their appearances to look like her. Nicki added that she was happy she didn't do anything to her nose. She then mentioned that she hoped nobody did the same with the misconception that she had a nose job done.
On October 16, at Vogue‘s Forces of Fashion, Nicki spoke about embracing her looks and also stated that she couldn't look at the photos of herself at a younger age. According to the rapper, confidence grows with age. She further added:
"You just start understanding yourself better. And when you understand yourself better, you forgive yourself."
Nicki Minaj previously stated that she didn't like looking at her old photos since she didn't like her appearance
Amid her recent statement about not getting a nose job done, it is worth mentioning the rapper's take on plastic surgeries. This wasn't the first time that she spoke about them. In November 2023, she made an appearance on The Run-Through with Vogue podcast.
On the podcast, Nicki Minaj said how she regretted some of her decisions surrounding plastic surgery. She spoke to podcast hosts Chioma Nnadi and Chloe Malle, and said:
"I guarantee you, if you change anything on your body and do anything surgical and all this, you're going to — more than likely, not definitely, more than likely — look back one day and say, 'I was fine just the way I was.'"
The interviewers then reminded her of a September 2011 photo that captured Nicki and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour at the Carolina Herrera Show. The rapper immediately told them that she didn't prefer checking out her old photos since she didn't like how she looked back then.
Nicki Minaj recalled the insecurities about her body and said:
"I didn't like being skinny, having a flat butt, you know. Having boobs that didn't sit high enough. It was a lot of things. And when I look back at myself now, I literally was like, 'Oh, I'm about to look like that girl again.'"
Nicki further stated that changing her appearance helped in her personality growth as well.
As for her current statements, Nicki Minaj denied getting a nose job done, as mentioned before.
