Druski's joke about celebrity ex-girlfriend Rubi Rose blew up a little more than he expected when he commented on his relationship with the rapper and model in an interview with Big Tigger on V103 Atlanta on July 31.
In the interview, the American comedian-rapper was asked about Rubi Rose and he praised his ex-girlfriend.
“It’s a learning situation, and that’s what it’s all about. There wasn’t nothing bad that happened, we just… she’s a beautiful girl. She’s doing great in life, man. She’s making money. I’m doing the same.”
However, when the comedian was asked about the greatest takeaways from his relationship with Rubi Rose, Druski elaborated on the financial aspect of things. According to the comedian, one needs to be prepared to shell out when dating someone like her.
“You better have them pockets ready. I ain’t saying that’s what happened [pauses] but you just got to be ready. You don’t know when you’re going to have to be pulling that wallet out.”
The "You better have them pockets ready" comment blew up on the internet so much that the comedian had to post an Instagram story to set the facts straight. In the story posted on August 1, the comedian asserted he was joking when he said that line and revealed that his ex-girlfriend had shelled out more money than him in the relationship.
"In the last interview I did, I spoke about my recent relationship. And to be real I was trolling. She spent more money in the relationship than I did."
"F**k Love" — Ruby Rose confirmed her breakup with Druski in an interview
Druski and Rubi Rose's relationship was confirmed when the two posted several intimate photos on Instagram in April 2024 from their trip to the Dominican Republic. However, it lasted for a short period and Rubi Rose confirmed it in a street interview in June.
According to Shade Room, she was asked about her relationship with the comedian and she responded by saying,
"umm, f**k love."
The American rapper explicitly zeroed in that she was not dating Druski anymore and said, "Okay, I am single, guys." This comes after Druski publicly accused her of cheating in a livestream with YouTube personality, Kai Cenat and comedian Kevin Hart.
However, the comedian didn't reject the chance to rekindle things with his ex-girlfriend. He ended the V103 Atlanta interview by suggesting that he might "go back and spin the block," leaving room for a potential patch-up in the future.
