On October 28, 2024, Lul Tim released the trailer for his upcoming documentary The Book of Timothy. The multi-part docu-series will reportedly explore "new details" regarding King Von's murder in 2020, which saw Tim being arrested as the prime suspect. The charges were later dropped after the prosecution argued that Tim acted in self-defence.
The documentary, whose first episode is available for streaming on bookoftimdoc.com, will also feature appearances from Tim's associate Quando Rondo, also involved in the shootout where Von died. 6ix9ine and Charleston White are also expected to appear in the docu-series.
Lul Tim premiered the trailer on his Instagram page with the caption:
"After almost 5 years of silence I Releases the never before told truth in The Book of Timothy. Narrated by Shawn Cotton of SayCheeseTV, with appearances from Quando Rondo, Charleston White and more. The first episode “A Mothers Prayer” is available to stream now at bookoftimdoc.com."
The trailer received polarizing responses on social media. Many claimed the timing of the documentary was suspicious as it coincided with Lil Durk's arrest.
"Smart move Durk can't get you when he's locked up."
Several agreed with this sentiment, claiming Lul Tim and Quando Rondo waited four years to drop the documentary.
"You not gonna tell me they didn’t have prior knowledge about Durk and otf going to jail. The timing of this and Quando Rando new song and video."
"They waited til durk get locked up to start talking 4 years these two Feds been hiding."
"After 5 years of hiding dude wunna talk wen durk in jail u tuff gang."
However, others disagreed with that notion, adding the group was lying low, waiting for Lul Tim's case to be dropped.
"They didnt wait until durk got locked up they waited until tim beat that case but whatever floats yall boat to make yall feel better."
"I love how everyone is saying that Quando and Tim are scared but every time lil Tim dropped a song he straight up dissed OTF/300 and would diss Von and Same with Quando them boys were never scared at all. They definitely dissed but try to keep quiet too because of Tims case was pending."
"They be hating on Tim and quando they ain’t like they wrong."
Lul Tim was cleared of murder in 2023
In November 2020, Chicago-based rapper King Von died as a result of a shootout, after his group clashed with Quando Rondo's in Atlanta. Lul Tim was arrested for Von's murder. He was released on a $100,000 bail in 2021.
In August 2023, Noah Pines, Tim's attorney, said in a statement to XXL Magazine at the time that his client's charges were dropped:
“The case against Mr. Leeks was dismissed prior to ever being indicted."
Lul Tim's new documentary was announced just days after Lil Durk, Von's associate, was arrested in Florida for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident with Quando Rondo.
Police allege that Durk orchestrated a shootout in 2022 to get revenge on Rondo for Von's death. The shootout, which occurred in LA, left Rondo unscathed but killed his cousin Lul Pab.
Along with Durk, five of his Only The Family associates were also arrested in connection with the 2022 shootout. Durk faces charges of "murder-for-hire" and is detained at a Broward County Jail with no bail.
