Snoop Dogg and Shante Broadus' relationship timeline explored as musician reveals why she fell in love with rapper

Shante Broadus, Snoop Dogg's wife, recently revealed what made her fall in love with her husband when they met for the first time as teens in high school. On July 23, 2024, the rapper posted a clip of his wife in an interview with Big Boy TV, where she was asked what first attracted her to Snoop when she met him, to which she replied:

"Tall, dark skin and just being funny and cool. He was funny. He was the clown and the rapper. "

When the host asked her how things were at home when Snoop Dogg was there away from all the fame and publicity, Shante laughingly said:

"When he's home, he might have an attitude. It’s cool. I just tell him to shut the hell up and keep it pushing."

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., met Shante Broadus (née Taylor) when they were teenagers in their high school, Long Beach Polytechnic High School, in California in the late 1980s. The couple, who tied the knot in 1997, have two sons and a daughter.

Snoop Dogg and his wife, Shante Broadus, were high school sweethearts who graduated in 1989. The rapper began his music career in 1992 with the full-fledged support of his wife. In a 2021 interview with W Magazine, Shante said:

“I was there with him when he started all this. Even before he came out [as a musician], our friends and I were his fans. We would always listen to his songs and give our opinions. When he became popular, I was still helping them with deals and offers.”

The couple married on June 14, 1997, at The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina Del Rey, California. They already had two sons by the time they got married. They welcomed their first son, Cordé, on May 20, 1994, and had their second son, Cordell, on February 21, 1997. Snoop and Shante's daughter, Cori, was born on June 22, 1999.

The couple endured a rough patch in 2004, briefly separating after Snoop Dogg initiated a divorce due to irreconcilability. However, the couple worked out their problems and reconciled. In a 2007 interview with People Magazine, the rapper admitted that the fame clouded his judgment.

“I thought I was the man, and I was willing to give up what I had at home for that until I realized that what I had at home was irreplaceable. I had kids with my wife because I wanted to be with my wife. And those three babies are all wanted, and I wanted to be with them," he said.

Snoop and Shante renewed their vows at singer Charlie Wilson’s ranch on January 12, 2008. However, their smooth-sailing relationship hit another speed bump when YouTube personality Celina Powell accused the rapper of cheating on his wife with her.

Her claims were supported by Snoop Dogg's rival, rapper Takeshi 6ix9ine, who alleged he had proof of the affair. However, Snoop Dogg revealed that the accusations were lies created by Powell on his show Clout Chasers.

Shante became Snoop's manager in June 2021, overseeing his business ventures, brand partnerships, and music career. She also owns a music management company, Boss Lady Entertainment, which was started in 2003.

Snoop and Shante Broadus celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary in June 2024. The couple has six grandchildren: Zion, Elleven, Leo, Symphony Sol, Chateau, and Cordoba.
