Snoop Dogg ran a 200-meter exhibition race, a special addition to the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials, and social media went crazy. On Sunday, June 23, Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., known professionally as Snoop Dogg, took to the starting line in Eugene, Oregon, facing stiff competition from two-time NCAA outdoor champion Wallace Spearmon Jr. and four-time Olympic medalist Ato Boldon.

Snoop sported some Nike kicks and an American flag-themed outfit, with his shirt paying tribute to the late great Kobe Bryant. Although the Dogfather finished a distant third behind his fellow competitors, he still managed to clock an impressive time of 34.44 seconds. Spearmon finished first, while Boldon came in second. After catching his breath, the rapper posed with his timing and exclaimed:

"34.44 for a 52-year-old? Ain’t bad."

Snoop also posted a clip from his run on Instagram and captioned his post:

"First time want be my last time to get a better time 🐾🙌🏿🇺🇸🇺🇸 ⏰."

Reacting to the same, people exclaimed how the rapper was living his best life, with some even claiming that he was the new Betty White as everybody loved him. Netizens talked about how Snoop was doing side quests now that he'd already conquered hip-hop.

Snoop Dogg fans were impressed by the rapper's timing. One user even suggested that the rapper should carry the United States flag at the Olympics. Here are a few Instagram reactions to Snoop Dogg's already iconic 200-meter run:

To much delight, Snoop Dogg was not done with the Olympics after his run. The rapper also gave commentary for the 3,000-meter steeplechase trials. During his commentary, Snoop quipped:

"What we’re about to see right now is they’re about to get to dipping, gripping, riding, slipping and hopefully not sliding."

He further exclaimed:

"Oh he’s jumping on top of the hurdle. You can do that?! That was a cold trick right there. I like that one. Went off the tippy-top."

Snoop Dogg was announced as a 2024 Paris Olympics special correspondent for NBC on December 31, 2023. This means that the rapper will be on-site to cover the Olympic Games. Snoop, who already has experience with his viral coverage of the dressage competition at the Tokyo Olympics, said in a December 31 press release:

"We’re going to have some amazing competitions and, of course, I will be bringing that Snoop style to the mix. It’s going to be the most epic Olympics ever, so stay tuned, and keep it locked. Let’s elevate, celebrate, and make these games unforgettable, smoke the competition, and may the best shine like gold. Peace and Olympic LOVE, ya dig?"

The 2024 Paris Olympics will begin on Friday, July 26, and come to an end a few weeks later, on Sunday, August 11.
