Rapper DDG and his former partner Halle Bailey's son Halo turned one on December 22, 2024. Both the artists shared posts on their social media platforms, celebrating their son's birthday.
However, what caught netizens' attention after the adorable posts by the parents, was that the rapper purchased a brand new red Ferrari for his 1-year-old son.
Clips of the birthday celebration have been circulated all across the internet. In one video, the rapper was seen holding Halo while the red supercar appeared and many people cheered for the kid.
The video became viral, just a few days after the rapper made a tweet stating that he needed $40,000 to host Halo's birthday party and thus, urged his audience to avoid skipping ads while watching his vlogs. It sparked a wave of criticism, and in light of his recent gesture of buying a fancy car for his baby, netizens took to social media to comment on the same.
Here are some responses found on X, formerly known as Twitter. A user (@Sir__Rendar) tweeted:
"So DDG bought himself a Ferrari on his son's birthday? 🤣"
Another netizen wrote on X:
"Ddg saw halo's birthday as an opportunity to buy a ferrari for himself lmao."
"So what’s halo going to do with a Ferrari at 1??" questioned another netizen.
"How would Halo drive the f**king Ferrari man? I'm crying..😭," another person said.
A user even joked saying that he would want to be born as Halo in their next life. The user stated:
"Lord if you reincarnate me, please let me come back as #Halo. That little n***a just got a Ferrari for his 1st birthday."
"Halo got a Ferrari for his bday I got lies and bs," another person said.
"Halo 1st birthday was a ferrari? Wooowww🙆🏾♀️," another netizen said.
DDG and Halle Bailey introduced their son Halo in January 2024
While Halo was born in December last year, the former couple decided to introduce him to the public earlier this year. Since then, both DDG and Halle have experienced ups and downs in their relationship, ultimately leading to their separation in October. The rapper, however, claimed in November that he hadn't moved on from Halle.
In a vlog uploaded on his channel PontiacMadeDDG, the rapper admitted that he was yet to move on from his former partner. He further stated that he wanted to have more children with Halle, despite their break up. He gave insights into his dating life also, claiming that he wasn't dating and tried to stay focused on his work.
As for the birthday party for 1-year-old Halo, several other clips could be found online. In one of them, the baby seemed intrigued when he saw the life-sized version of the character Cocomelon. In another one, Halle Bailey got emotional while singing "Happy Birthday" to her son.
