Netizens have reacted to Dr. Umar Johnson's theory on why he thinks Sean "Diddy" Combs, R. Kelly, and Bill Cosby are locked up in prison. Born Jermaine Shoemake, Dr. Umar Johnson is an American Black activist, motivational speaker, and psychologist.
The 50-year-old, who graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine with a Psy.D. in clinical psychology, is known for condemning homosexuality and interracial marriage.
Dr. Umar Johnson shocked college students during a recent speech when he talked about the alleged real reason for the arrests of Diddy, R. Kelly, and Bill Cosby. According to him, "These people are not going to jail for s*x crimes. They are going to jail for standing their ground."
"R. Kelly is in jail because he didn't want to sell his masters to a certain music company. If he is wrong, he should do the time. That's not what I'm talking about. I am saying he's only there because he broke the rules," claimed Dr. Umar Johnson.
According to him, Bill Cosby was imprisoned because he protested against the "second-largest oil company" and didn't allow them to execute drilling operations under his residence.
The audience collectively gasped in shock when Dr. Umar Johnson brought up the topic of Diddy's imprisonment.
"Puffy is in jail because he started a black-first political party. Puffy is in jail because he sued one of the most powerful liquor companies in London. That's why Puffy is in jail," commented Dr. Umar Johnson.
Netizens were quick to respond to Dr. Umar Johnson's theories on social media.
"So he didn't see the Cassie footage? He didn't watch the R. Kelly tape of him peeing on a 14-year-old? He didn't listen to the testimonies of dozens of women from 40 years ago saying Bill drugged them?" a netizen wrote on X.
"Everytime a black man is held accountable it gotta be a conspiracy theory or an attack on the black man. The lack of accountability is absolutely disgusting especially with knowing Diddy s*xually assaulted men too. Wrong is wrong!" another person commented.
"He just says any stuff sometimes," wrote another user on X.
Meanwhile, many netizens supported Dr. Umar Johnson's theory and explained it in their own terms.
"Lemme dumb it down for the “did you not see the footage “ people.. he’s saying that money would of swept all that weird s**t under the rug if it wasn’t for the real agenda," a netizen commented.
"Yall not hearing him! He’s saying they are wrong for what they did but those wrong doings didn’t land them in jail not following the elites orders is what put them in jail and they had to dig up the dirt on them to actually go to jail," another user explained.
"I agree!!! Even down to the Hefner comparison and the fact our ppl love to see someone fail! Yes they may be guilty but it’s bigger than the actual crimes they committed," another commented.
Some other comments on X are as follows:
"Dr Umar got a point! 50 already told y’all why Diddy finally going down," a user commented.
"Dr. Umar just dropped a truth bomb that has everyone’s mind blown," opined another.
"We all seen the Cassie video but listen to what king consciousness is putting down, let that man cook," inferred a netizen on X.
Dr. Umar Johnson once explained his stance on Diddy's arrest and the rapper's connection with Diageo
Diddy, aka Sean John Combs, was arrested on September 16 and charged with s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in pr*stitution.
In an interview with The Art of Dialogue published on September 26, Dr. Umar Johnson broke his silence on Diddy's arrest. The 50-year-old motivational speaker began by asserting that Diddy deserved to be punished if prosecutors could prove his guilt "beyond a shadow of doubt."
"Like anyone else, if you do the crime, you should do the time," he commented.
Dr. Umar Johnson alleged that Diddy's arrest resulted from the multinational alcoholic beverage conglomerate Diageo, who was in charge of marketing his DeLeon tequila brand.
According to the motivational speaker, Diddy sued Diageo last year, claiming the brand underpromoted and neglected DeLeon. As per Variety, Diageo settled the legal disputes with Diddy outside court in January 2024.
“Watch this timeline. He sues Diageo in the spring. Cassie comes out in the fall. He settles with Cassie in 24 hours. Diageo is watching this. So, when Diageo tries to settle with Puffy outside of court, they did this knowing fully well, we ‘bout to go after you and destroy you. You’re messing with the Illuminati,” Dr. Umar Johnson claimed.
The 51-year-old concluded by saying that it was impossible that Diddy's arrest and his feud with Diageo were unrelated.
The rapper is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center and awaits his next trial for the s*x trafficking charges, which is scheduled for May 5, 2025.
