On June 19, 2024, The Eras Tour's official X page posted the nearly-completed mural of Taylor Swift ahead of her performance at Wembley Stadium, starting on June 21. The pop sensation, who traveled worldwide on her record-breaking tour, is finally gearing up to perform in London.
The hyper-realistic mural used Swift's 2023 Grammy look as the reference, capturing her tied-up blond hair and triangular earrings with her signature red lip.
The mural was also framed by her famous lyrics from songs like Fearless, Teardrops On My Guitar, Starlight, Out of the Woods, Lover, and You're On Your Own, Kid, to name a few.
Eagle-eyed Swifties noticed some of the alphabets were seemingly capitalized without any pattern. This led them to believe the mural was hiding an encoded message, in line with Taylor Swift's penchant for leaving puzzles for her fans. One fan took to X to tweet:
More Swifties jumped on the bandwagon of coded messages, emphasizing that the randomly capitalized alphabets were very suspicious.
"What do the capital letters spell?" another asked.
"THE LETTERS??" another Swiftie exclaimed.
Other fans were quick to start decoding, coming up with possible explanations for what the mural could mean.
"HUMOR INDIE MURALS for the left side, FOLKLORE, TAY, ALICE, and ERAS for the visible right side!" one Swiftie wrote.
"HUMORINDIEMURWAALLSFOKLOETAYALICESERASK idk the rest," another added.
"For those wondering, HUMOR INDIE MURWALLS FOLKLORE TAY ALICE ERAS are what the capitals spell out," another Swiftie confirmed.
Taylor Swift will perform eight shows at Wembley Stadium in London
'The Eras Tour' will finally come to London as Taylor Swift is set to perform at Wembley Stadium from June 21 to June 23, with five additional shows from August 15 to August 17, August 19, and August 20. The UK dates were first announced in June 2023, and tickets sold out almost immediately.
Before this, Taylor Swift toured in Liverpool, Cardiff, and Edinburgh, with the singer performing her 100th show at Anfield in Liverpool on June 13. The Bad Blood singer took to Instagram on June 15 to celebrate this milestone, writing:
"So many dreamy memories from Liverpool!! We played our 100th show on The Eras Tour (which feels truly deranged to say because this show feels new to me every time we play it). I want say thank you to our Eras Tour crew, my fellow performers and band who have now committed hundreds of hours to putting on this show and giving their all on and behind that stage."
Paramore, the rock band fronted by Hayley Williams, will be the opening act for Taylor Swift's shows in London. Other surprise acts include Mette on June 21 and Griff on June 22 at Wembley.
According to News Shopper, fans with early entry are expected to enter Wembley Stadium at 4 p.m. and general ticket holders at 4:30 p.m. Paramore will take to the stage around 6 p.m., with the earlier opening acts scheduled around 4:30 to 5 p.m.
Taylor Swift's main performance will begin between 7 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. The three-hour and 15-minute show will feature a lineup of songs from Swift's decades-long discography, starting with Lover and ending with Midnights.
After The Tortured Poets Department, her eleventh studio album was released in April, the singer inducted it into her setlist, removing songs like Archer, The Last Great American Dynasty, ’Tis the Damn Season, and Tolerate It to make way for her new songs.
According to The Telegraph, Taylor Swift also confirmed 'The Eras Tour' will conclude this year during her 100th show in Liverpool, shutting down rumors of extended dates in 2025. She added that the tour will end in December, with the final show at BC Place, Vancouver, on December 8.
“The celebration of the 100th show for me means this is the very first time I’ve acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December. Like, that’s it. I think that this tour has really become my entire life," she said while addressing the crowd.
'The Eras Tour' kicked off in Glendale, Arizona, on March 17, 2023, following the release of Taylor Swift's tenth studio album, Midnights, in October 2022. The tour was also released as a successful concert film worldwide on October 13, 2023.
