Camila Cabello commented on Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef in her latest The Times interview. On Thursday, June 27, the I Luv It singer discussed her latest album, C, XOXO, with the publication. She also shared her opinion on the rap feud that took over social media in recent days.

While discussing her collaboration with Drake, who features in her latest Hot Uptown and Uuugly songs, Camila Cabello opined that she wished the two rappers would resolve their conflict. She said:

“It’s so frustrating to see people talk about someone you know in a way that is negative. You’re like, ‘dang, if only you guys could just have dinner or something.’”

However, fans were not impressed with the singer's comments on the recent beef, and reacting to her statement, one person stated online:

The feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake began after the latter opined that he, the former, and J. Cole were the “big three” in the rap scene in his and J. Cole’s song First Person Shooter, released on October 31, 2023. It appears that K. Dot was not pleased with the same. In his collaboration with Metro Boomin and Future on their Like That, released on March 26, K. Dot stated there was no “big three” but just a “big me.”

Following the release of Like That, both rappers released several songs while taking a jab at each other. Drake further escalated the feud with the release of Push Ups and Taylor Made Me Freestyle, challenging Kendrick Lamar to respond.

In response K. Dot released Euphoria on April 30, followed by 6:16 in LA on May 3. Drake responded to the tracks with Family Matters on the same day, which was followed by Meet the Grahams and Not Like Us by Lamar.

Many netizens online stated that Camila Cabello seemingly did not understand the gravity of the rap beef. They then took to the internet to troll her. Comments online read:

“She sides with a predator. Her opinion isn’t relevant,” an X user said.
“drake and Camilla are not like us,” another fan stated.
“We don’t care about her opinion on the matter,” another internet user said.

The 27-year-old musician had not addressed the trolling she had garnered for her opinion on the beef at the time of writing this article. Meanwhile, other comments online read:

“Drake met her when she was a teenager in fifth harmony and he was 30. She not helping him beat those grooming allegations,” an X user stated.
“She don’t got a clue what’s going on lol,” another netizen stated.
“Kendrick will cook her too,” another platform user stated.

Camila Cabello was the latest celebrity to comment on the beef at the time of writing this article. Reactions to her comment read:

“She should mind her business and make another Hip-Pop song like “my oh my” with Dababy,” an user on X said.
“everytime she opens her mouth I realize I am not annoyed by her existence enough,” another netizen stated.
“She compromised,” an internet user opined.

Camila Cabello shares story behind Drake collaboration in The Times interview

Further speaking about the Toronto rapper, Cabello revealed that her collaboration with the former came into being after she got in touch with him by sliding into his DMs. She said:

“It’s like a weird teenage thing where I feel that nobody cares about me or likes me. And it was fun to be proven wrong.”

While speaking about her and Drake’s songs in an Apple Music Zane Lowe interview, Camila Cabello revealed the reason why the singing duo decided to split their recorded track into two separate songs.

“Because he [Drake] didn’t really need to give me an outro, but for me, it’s like I don’t want to hear a song like Hot Uptown and then have it go into this one minute thing where he is talking his s**t, so we decided to just make it another song,” the singer shared.

Other musicians like City Girls and Playboi Carti have also appeared on Camila Cabello’s latest album.
