The All About That Bass hitmaker Meghan Trainor recently revealed she "cannot smile anymore" after a botched-up cosmetic procedure. During the Thursday, November 21, 2024, episode of her podcast Workin’ On Upgrades, the singer cautioned her viewers:

"To all my fellow girlies out there, who (are) in your 30s out there, hi. I got too much Botox, and I need help. I messed up."

At one point, she confessed:

"I cannot smile anymore....Everywhere I go, I cannot smile. My face hurts to smile."

As the clip from the podcast went viral, netizens were quick to react. One X user expressed that this was a cautionary tale, writing under @PopCrave's post on X:

Many commented that it was ironic for Meghan Trainor to get a cosmetic procedure when her most iconic song, All About That Bass, centered around body positivity.

"Girl what happened to "every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top" lyrics," one wondered.
"Bae should've listened to All About That Bass," another remarked.
"Botox?? Usually it’s filler for lips but it’s ok it wears off. She’ll be fine," a person stated.

Others commented on the realities of getting procedures like fillers.

"You're 30's is way too young to get botox! But I'm glad to see someone bringing the bad side of all these fillers to the light," one urged.
"this is actually so real," a user wrote.
"It’s sad how our society pressures women to undergo invasive procedures to fit an unattainable standard," another commented.

Despite the bad experience Meghan Trainor reveals she has plans to get cosmetic surgery

On her podcast Workin’ On Upgrades, Meghan Trainor explained that she had gotten Botox a handful of times in the past, including on her forehead. However, someone told her to get a "lip flip," which would make her upper lip appear fuller.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, it is a non-surgical procedure involving injecting Botox into the corner of one's mouth or edges of one's lips. However, it is different from adding lip fillers, which feature injecting hyaluronic acid (HA) to add volume.

Trainor stated:

"Someone convinced me with my little lips that if you did a lip flip, you put filler right above your upper lip, that you could have a beautiful flip on your upper lip and I could have one for the first time in my whole 30 years of living."

She continued:

"It was not true."

During the episode, Meghan Trainor's elder brother, Ryan, recalled that when he first noticed his sister couldn't smile, he joked that the singer got the lip flip in a "hardware store."

However, the singer stated that she learned her lesson, stating that it taught her that "(her) smile does light up a room." She shared that she was trying to reverse the lip flip, including "taking vibrators to (her) upper lip." Ryan added that it would "wear off" soon.

Elsewhere in the episode, Trainor revealed she was not against getting cosmetic surgery despite the bad experience. She shared that she planned on getting her a "boob job" due to her "saggy" breasts after the birth of her children. She has two sons with husband Daryl Sabara.

However, she added that she wasn't looking to enhance the size but to make them "tiny." She stated that it would be "huge" for her confidence.

Meghan Trainor has not publicly commented on the internet reaction.
