SZA recently entertained her fans by revealing a snippet of a new song on Instagram. The snippet was accompanied by a clip of the singer in a fur coat sitting by a bonfire at a campsite at night while the song played in the background.

Many speculate that the new song is expected to be part of the updated version of SOS Deluxe: Lana, scheduled for release on January 6. However, this has yet to be confirmed. The singer recently announced that SOS Deluxe: Lana, originally released on December 20, will undergo changes to include new mixes and songs.

On January 6, the singer uploaded the new snippet with the caption:

"Drove by ur funeral just to piss In the ditch . I’m not remiss."

The new song seemingly left SZA's fans excited, with many immediately trying to decipher the lyrics. One netizen theorized the track sounded like a diss targeting her former record label, Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE).

"Sounds like SZA is dissing her label / manager."

Many fans expressed their excitement at a new song, claiming it was "on fire."

"New song is on fire (fire emoji)," one fan tweeted.
"She knows we’re starving," another fan added.
"SZA dropping that (fire emoji)," someone else commented.
"WE BEING FED SO BAD CAMP," another user posted.

However, others speculated about when the new track would be released, referencing how her latest album was delayed before finally being released in December 2024.

"Sum else we gon get in 2 years," another user added.
"Can’t wait for it to be released in 2026," someone else wrote.
"Coming out in 2030," another person said.

SZA to add three new songs to updated SOS Deluxe: Lana album

According to Billboard, SZA will reportedly add three new songs to SOS Deluxe: Lana, titled PSA, Take You Down, and Open Arms, to the already existing 15-track album. On December 30, the singer updated her fans about the new version, writing:

"Just got word all updated Mixes and new songs will be added Jan 6th when the label comes back from holiday. Sorry they can’t do it any sooner Just wanted to keep yall in the loop Thank yall for your patience."

SOS Deluxe: Lana is the highly anticipated re-issue of the singer's 2022 album SOS. The album went live on all streaming platforms on December 20, 2024, and featured a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on the track 30 for 30.

Following the release of her album, the singer announced that she was parting ways with her record label, Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). She revealed that Terrence “Punch” Henderson, her manager at TDE, had “stepped away abruptly” from their professional relationship, however, the exact reason is unclear.

In another comment, she asked people to stop sending hate tweets to her former manager, adding she still loved him and they just grew apart.

Henderson recently issued an update about SZA's upcoming version of SOS Deluxe: LANA, adding the team was waiting on some clearances before release.

In other news, SZA's SOS returned to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 after SOS Deluxe: LANA's release. The album charted No.1 for the 12th non-consecutive week following the reissue. According to Billboard, SOS remained in the weekly top 20 since its release in 2022.
