Lil Pump recently made headlines after he posted a tweet on July 29, where he questioned Kamala Harris' ethnicity, and claimed that she was more Indian than Black. On August 1, Pump had posted another tweet on the similar line, where he wrote,
"Every black person I know is voting for Trump"
The tweet further contained an image showcasing the rapper with a group of African-American people. The people in the photo are holding banners with phrases like "Blacks For Trump," written on them. Lil Pump's tweet soon became viral and garnered several responses from the netizens. Here are some of the online reactions:
One user tweeted,
"These the same black people that be at all trump rallys 😂😂😂😂."
"This is a 2020 pic, and also your wording makes it look like you only know these specific black people. Gucci gang," commented another user.
"But none of them can rent apartments from him cause they’re black," added a tweet.
While several netizens ridiculed Lil Pump for his tweet, many extended support and voiced their liking towards Trump. One user wrote:
"You don't know me, but add me to the list. #Trump2024."
"Real black people stand behind Trump," read one tweet.
"Not just black, every person in the right state of mind, people so f*cking brainwashed. Reality won’t hit untill they give you gun and make your a** go to war lol," mentioned another user.
Lil Pump had always been vocal about his support for Donald Trump
Pump first came to light with his support of Trump, back in 2020, when he endorsed the former President by citing that he didn't like Joe Biden's tax plans.
In a deleted video, posted on Instagram back, Pump wrote,
"All I gotta say is Trump 2020 b—- F— I look like paying a extra 33 is tax for Biden, b—- a– n—-. F— sleepy Joe n—- Trump 2020 b—-."
Shortly after voicing his political inclination, he also faced backlash on the internet. He was, however, celebrated by conservative commentator Tomi Lahren. Back then, when Pump made such remarks and began openly supporting Trump, Tha Lights Global, the company he was signed with, issued a statement. In the statement, CEO Dooney Battle wrote that the company didn't support Trump and instead expressed their clear inclination towards Joe Biden.
The company, however, added that while they had a certain political stance, they supported their artists having a different view as well.
Since 2020, Lil Pump has spoken in favor of Donald Trump several times and has also thrown some controversial statements, like recently claiming that Kamala Harris wasn't Black. He even ended up getting a tattoo of Trump's mugshot on his thigh, which he had also flaunted on social media.
He had also participated in Trump rallies and was the person who popularized the "We Want Trump" chant among the University of Mississippi students in October 2023.
Lil Pump dissed Megan Thee Stallion for her performance at Kamala Harris' rally in Atlanta, last month
In July 2024, Kamala Harris had one of her campaign rallies in Atlanta at Georgia State University. A highlight of the rally was the performance of rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Pump expressed his views on Stallion's performance as well.
On July 30, he took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and it seemed like he wasn't fond of the performance. He posted a series of tweets, the first of which read,
"Who tf performs at a kamal Harris rally."
Lil Pump further called Megan an "embarassment to the culture." Another tweet stated,
"This is an embarrassment to our country."
In a follow-up tweet, Pump mentioned,
"Kamal Harris should’ve booked killer mike for the rally instead of Megan estallian."
Megan performed several songs at the event, including Girls in the Hood, Mamushi, Body, and Savage. Hindustan After the rapper sang some X-rated lyrics in front of the audience at the rally, many claimed that Kamala Harris wasn't doing a "serious" campaign. Many even stated Megan's performance wasn't right for an election campaign.
The list of netizens who bashed the rapper included Lil Pump as well, who further claimed in a tweet posted on July 31, that Harris needed such a performance for people to appear at her rally, while Trump's appearance was enough for people to attend his rallies.
