Former member of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Da Band boy group, Freddy P, discussed the rapper on The Art of Dialogue channel on October 30. He urged Combs not to take the stand during his May 5, 2025, trial and to take a settlement to return to his kids. The rapper is now spending time behind bars following his September arrest.

Former Bad Boy Records artist Freddy P said during his interview:

“Your ego f**king you up because let me tell you something, some real sh*t… you could have taken $150 million and shut everybody up. You could have silenced me. I wouldn’t have been on this platform, kicking you in the a*s. You couldn’t even silence me. I’m on here because you [Diddy] did me wrong and I’m on your a*s n**ga.”

Freddy P then claimed that Diddy had an "ego,” which would not let him “lose.”

“You already guilty in the public opinion, bro. Take the best plea you could get; try to come home to your kids,” Freddy P added.

Although Freddy P encouraged the rapper not to take the stand, legal experts have opined that Diddy will have no choice but to be interrogated during his trial.

Johnny Depp’s attorney Benjamin Chew opines Diddy will have no choice but to take the stand during his trial

While appearing on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored show, Johnny Depp’s attorney, Benjamin Chew, who represented the actor during his defamation trial against Amber Heard, said that the evidence that already exists against Diddy at the moment will force him to take the stand during the trial.

While referring to the tape of Diddy allegedly physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend and singer Cassie Ventura at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in California, Chew stated that he would be forced to testify despite apologizing for his actions in a now-deleted Instagram video.

“That’s going to force him to testify, and I think he’s going to have to do an awful lot better than he did in that apology video if he’s going to convince one or two jurors to hang that jury. I don’t like his chances… Video is so damaging at any trial, whether it’s criminal or civil because it’s hard to explain away,” Chew said.

Chew then opined that Diddy would have to show “emotion” and that not taking the stand would be “damning.” He added:

“When he said he was sorry [to Cassie Ventura on Instagram], it didn’t ring true. I would like to see more emotion there.”

Meanwhile, Freddy P also discussed the $50 million bond Combs' lawyers offered to the court to keep him out of jail before his trial. The lawyers also offered to turn over his and his family members' passports to prove that he was not a flight risk.

However, prosecutors argued that Combs must remain incarcerated to “ensure that his criminal conduct” does not go unpunished “through manipulative and obstructive conduct.”

Combs’ lawyers attempted to have him bailed out three times to no avail.
