Taylor Swift recently spoke about about the "devastating" cancelation of her Eras Tour concerts in Vienna earlier this month, revealing her "guilt" over the decision.

In a lengthy post on Instagram on Wednesday, August 21, the popstar finally addressed the Vienna situation. Alongside a carousel of photos from her Eras Tour concerts, she wrote in part:

"Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows."

But while The Tortured Poets Department hitmaker was devastated about having to cancel on her fans in Vienna, she also feels grateful for the authorities. She said that thanks to the police, people are "grieving concerts and not lives."

Taylor Swift added that she feels "heartened" by the love and unity she saw from her fans who banded together after the news of the show's cancelations.

Taylor Swift reveals why it took her time to address the cancelation of her Vienna show

After news of the Vienna concerts getting canceled came out, fans were waiting for a statement from the singer. However, she didn't give any. And in the same Instagram post, Taylor Swift opened up to her fans about the reason she didn't speak up about having her Eras Tour concerts at Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna canceled. She wrote:

"Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows."

The singer added that in cases like what happened in Vienna and the risks that come with it, "'silence' is actually showing restraint." She added that silence meant waiting for the right time to express herself.

Taylor Swift, who just wrapped the European leg of The Eras Tour with several shows in London, said that her priority at the time was to "finish the European tour safely." She also mentioned that she and her team were working with the British authorities and the rest of the stadium staff to ensure that the London shows are as safe for her fans as possible.

After five shows at the Wembley Stadium that concluded on Tuesday, August 20, Swift also mentioned in the Instagram caption that the crowds have been "bursting with passion, joy, and exuberance."

She said that walking onstage to perform for her fans in London was like a "rollercoaster of emotions."

She likened the energy of all five crowds in the stadium to a "most giant bear hug from 92,000 people."

While the Fortnight singer previously mentioned the new sense of fear she felt about the reason for the Vienna show cancelations, the energy in Wembley Stadium brought her back to "a place of carefree calm."
