Taylor Swift paused a show to get help for a distressed fan on June 7
The 34-year-old popstar made sure that all her fans were safe, on June 7 show in Edinburg. As soon as Taylor Swift noticed a distressed individual within the massive crowd, she began calling for security to assist the person. This happened while Swift was in the middle of performing her song Would've, Could've, Should've. She said:
"Need help right in front of me, right in front of me please. She's right in front of me, just gonna keep playing until we notice where it is, right, right there. I'm just gonna keep playing 'til somebody helps them, then I'm going to keep singing the song."
The pop star added:
"I don't think anybody's seen them yet and they're gonna, because we're not gonna keep singing, we're just gonna keep talking about the people that need help in front of me. Just let me know when - I can do this all night!"
After some time, the fan got help from the security people, to which Taylor further asked them if they were fine, to which they gave a positive response. This prompted the singer to resume singing, since, till then, she declined to do so.
The day this incident happened was the first day that Taylor Swift was performing in Edinburg. She will perform two more days at the same venue at Murrayfield Stadium, on June 8 and June 9, 2024. She arrived in the city on Friday before being taken away in a vehicle that was also accompanied by a police escort.
She has yet to cover several other European cities, including London, Dublin, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Liverpool, and Vienna, as a part of the Eras Tour. During the recent Edinburg show, she addressed the fans and explained that they made her feel "extremely powerful."

Taylor Swift had previously paused concerts for the welfare of the audience
The pop star had further received immense love and greetings from British music critics who could attend her first show in Edinburg. Daily Mail's Adrian Thrills gave a review of the show and said,
"It's easy to get lost in the Swiftiverse: the speculation surrounding the lyrics about her exes... But all the background noise fades the minute this brilliant performer hits the stage."
Alexis Petridis, who writes for The Guardian, described Taylor Swift's performance in the show in Edinburg to be extremely "powerful." Neil McCormack, writing for The Telegraph, compared the devotion of her fans to a "secular religious mass ritual."
Coming back to the recent action of Swift, where she went all out trying to ensure the safety of her audience, this wasn't the first time such an incident happened. In May 2023, she stopped in the middle while performing Bad Blood during a show. Swift noticed a fan reportedly getting harassed by a security guard.
A few months later, the pop star paid special attention to make sure her fans were hydrated enough since she was performing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with an intense heat wave around. Swift spoke from the stage, pointing at a section of the crowd and said,
"There’s people that need water right here, maybe 30, 35, 40 feet back. So, whoever is in charge of giving them that, just make sure that happens. Can I get a signal that you know where they are?"
Tragically, one fan passed away from heat exhaustion. It was later reported that the pop singer's team had reached out to the family after the incident. During the recent show in Edinburg, Taylor Swift concluded by thanking the people and also revealed that she had an amazing welcome in Scotland.
Taylor has been an artist who always expressed concern for the audience. She told Elle in 2019 that the death of many at the Ariana Grande concert in 2018, in Manchester, scared her for her tour as well.
