Taylor Swift is reportedly planning on expanding her Rhode Island manor, which featured as the inspiration for her song 'the last great american dynasty' from her Grammy-winning 2020 album Folklore.

According to The Providence Journal, Taylor Swift purchased the manor, nicknamed the Holiday House, for $17.75 million in 2013, and is reportedly planning a $1.7 million expansion, including a new bedroom and kitchen renovations. On January 14, Us Weekly reportedly obtained a zoning certificate and building permit that highlighted the expansion.

The singer also vacationed at the manor with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, in August 2024, along with Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds, Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany, and Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie. According to Us Weekly, a source claimed Swift loved spending time at the manor, adding:

“Taylor has been on tour and working nonstop and she loves the Rhode Island house and wanted to spend some time there while the weather is still good and she can enjoy it. It has felt wonderful to be grounded back home again. It’s been grounding to see friends and family and spend quality time with everyone, chat and get downloaded on everyone’s worlds because she has been so busy and disconnected.”

Taylor Swift's Rhode Island manor has eight bedrooms

According to Newsweek, Taylor Swift's sprawling 11000 sq. ft beachfront house located in the Watch Hill neighborhood of Westerly reportedly has eight bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and eight fireplaces. The new expansion will reportedly include a new 16 by 24 feet bedroom and new bathrooms.

The existing kitchen will also undergo a facelift during the renovation. The expansion, reportedly set to cost $1.7 million (including materials and labor), will be undertaken by local contractor David W. Shafovaloff.

It is unclear when the work on the house will begin, however, Us Weekly reported that the building documents were drafted in November and December 2024, with December 2025 as the expiry date.

Taylor Swift referenced the Holiday House in her song 'the last great american dynasty,' chronicling the life supposedly led by the home's previous owner, Rebekah Harkness, an American composer and socialite.

"Holiday House sat quietly on that beach / Free of women with madness, their men and bad habits / And then it was bought by me/ Who knows, if I never showed up, what could've been/ There goes the loudest woman this town has ever seen / I had a marvelous time ruining everything," Swift sang in the track.

The Rhode Island manor served as the background for Taylor Swift's famous Fourth of July parties, which featured a star-studded guest list including Selena Gomez and Alana Haim in 2023.

In other news, Taylor Swift wrapped up The Eras Tour in December 2024, nearly two years after the first show in March 2023. The tour became the highest-grossing tour of all time, earning over $2 billion.

The singer was recently nominated for six Grammys for her 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for the song Fortnight featuring Post Malone.
