Polytrauma and other autopsy details of Liam Payne explained
New details about Liam Payne's death have surfaced following a press release (October 17) from Argentina's National Criminal and Correctional Prosecution Office No. 16.
According to preliminary autopsy reports, Liam Payne's death was caused due to "polytrauma" and "internal and external hemorrhage." The Department of Veterans Affairs states that polytrauma is caused when a person sustains injuries to multiple body parts resulting in several vital organs being affected.
According to a report by TODAY, a person may die of polytrauma instantaneously or sometime later. Instantaneous deaths are mostly because of severe head injury or massive blood loss.
Payne's autopsy took place on the day of his death after the body was transported to the morgue. As per autopsy results, there were 25 injuries on Payne's body that were compatible with those generally caused by falling from a height.
Forensic experts told Fox News:
“Craniocerebral lesions were adequate enough to cause death, while internal and external hemorrhages in the skull, thorax, abdomen and limbs, they contributed to the mechanism of death.”
However, contents of his stomach, nasal swab, bile, vitreous humor, and urine are yet to be tested to determine whether there are any traces of alcohol, blood toxins, or drugs.
