Aerosmith recently announced that they are retiring from touring permanently, citing Steven Tyler's ongoing vocal cord injury as the reason.

The iconic rock band took to Instagram on August 2, 2024, to inform their followers that they have canceled all their rescheduled concert dates and are now officially retired. They shared how "grateful" they are for all the fans who went on the road with them.

However, the rock band noted that, sadly, a full recovery from Steven Tyler's vocal cord injury is "not possible. Hence, they have come to a "heartbreaking and difficult" conclusion to retire from the touring stage.

In line with the news, fans were quick to show their support and appreciation for the rock band on social media.

"Thank you for everything, sending love to all of you."

Lamenting over the "heartbreaking" news, many other fans shared their appreciation for the legendary band on X and thanked them for all their music and performances.

"This is heartbreaking. Thanks for all the music and all the experiences. Aerosmith forever," an X user commented.
"Heartbreaking! But at the same time I'm very happy to have loved in the same era s @Erosmith. I would love to see them live in one more show," another fan wrote on X.
"Steven Tyler. Joe Perry. Joey Krammer. Brad Whitfield. Tom Hamilton. Thank you. For your music. For your persona. For Toronto 2009. For my entire life when I needed you the most. You are forever America's GREATEST Rock Band. Dream On for life," an X user added.

Other netizens also went online to share their favorite moments from the band, recalling performances and albums that are cemented in their memories.

"Steven Tyler playing Dream On from the top of the Green Monster at Fenway Park will always be one of the most amazing moment at a live concert I've ever seen. Thank you for all the great times!!," a user on X commented.
"Thanks and congrats on the amazing run! Been a fan since early 1970s and lucky to see them many times including Philadelphia on the first night of their last tour. Peace Out!," another X user wrote.

Aerosmith previously postponed their 2023 Peace Out Farewell Tour after Steven Tyler's injury

In September last year, the rock band postponed their entire Peace Out Farewell Tour after completing only three shows. At the time, Aerosmith addressed the cancelation in a statement, saying:

"Unfortunately, Steven's vocal injury is more serious than initially thought."

The rock band also shared with fans that Steven Tyler had fractured his larynx, along with damaged vocal cords, and needed constant care, as confirmed by his doctor. After a while, the postponed tour dates were shifted to 2024 with a planned 40-date run that was supposed to start in Pittsburg on September 20, with the finale scheduled for February 2025 in Buffalo, New York.

Per Aerosmith's latest statement, all purchased concert tickets will be fully refunded through Ticketmaster and for other third-party tickets, fans can reach out to their respective sites.
