Azealia Banks and Roseanne Barr recently criticized rapper Cardi B for speaking at Democratic candidate Kamala Harris' Milwaukee rally on November 1, 2024. Cardi B is among the many celebrities who have supported Harris by appearing at her rallies. While the rapper didn't perform, she gave a nearly 11-minute-long speech advocating for the US Vice President in the upcoming election on November 5.
On November 2, rapper Azealia Banks, known for often criticizing fellow artists on social media, disapproved of Cardi for allegedly playing up the "*stupid latina* shtick" during what she called an "eye gougingly cringe" speech.
"Yikes, that cardi b Harris speech was eye gougingly cringe.... cardi HAS to stop doing that *stupid latina* shtick she does cause it's forced and not real. Sis is from 158th n Broadway. She's a Washington heights Mami at the core. Dominican women intelligent as hell, the shtick is a WILD misrepresentation. She's not even a true throrough bred Bronx rat like she acts like. She moved there at 14," Banks wrote.
Banks also claimed that Cardi B and Nicki Minaj are both "super smart" but played up the "ridiculous chickenhead antics" to appease their fans.
In a follow-up tweet, she accused the two rappers of acting like "dirtbag women," expressing disbelief in Cardi B's story that she robbed men to survive while she was an adult performer.
"Because they both really act like these dirtbag women they f**king aren't. I'd bet $1,000 cardi b's story about drugging and stealing from men was a lie. Just like nicki's story about selling Crack was a f**king lie lmaoo. Nicki went to F. H. LaGuardia. Us LaGuardia girls literally are compleeeeeeeeete f**king NERDS. We're way too uppity and dedicated to art to sell Crack lmaoooo. Like get f**king real," Banks posted on X.
Azealia Banks was not the only person who disparaged Cardi B following her speech at the Harris rally. On November 2, comedian Roseanne Barr also called out the rapper for dubbing Kamala Harris an underdog, saying she allegedly had the entire media and government backing her.
Cardi B called Trump "a hustler" during her speech
Cardi B's nearly 11-minute speech at the Kamala Harris campaign rally in Milwaukee saw the rapper dub Donald Trump a bully while advocating for Harris. Despite facing a teleprompter malfunction, Cardi continued her speech with the script on her phone, calliing out Trump for hi alleged disregard for women's reproductive rights.
"Protection for women, especially if we're talking about maternal and mental health care, isn't telling them what to do with their bodies. It's supporting them and giving them the care that they need for what they choose to do with their bodies. People like Donald Trump don't believe women deserve rights. And when those rights are taken away, they are nowhere to be found," she said.
She also called Trump a hustler, saying the former president allegedly trying to govern women's bodily autonomy was "nasty work."
Cardi also expressed she had no interest in voting this year as she did not believe in either Joe Biden or Trump. However, she said she changed her mind after Harris was nominated as the Democratic candidate, adding that she believed in the US Vice President and her promises for a better America.
The rapper publicly advocated for Kamala Harris since Biden announced he was dropping out of the election. She defended Harris when people questioned her relationship with her husband and called out author Alec Lace for dubbing Harris the "original Hawk Tuah" girl on live television in July.
In other news, tech billionaire Elon Musk also criticized Cardi B for speaking at the Harris rally, calling her a puppet who was being "fed words" in a post on X. The rapper fired back, accusing Musk of knowing nothing about the American struggle.
"I'm not a puppet, Elon. I'm a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their a** off to provide for me! I'm a product of welfare, I'm a product of section 8, I'm a product of poverty, and I'm a product of what happens when the system is set up against you. But you don't know nothing about that. You don't know not one thing about the American struggle," Cardi wrote.
She also called for Musk to fix her X algorithm as a final shot.
