Wack 100 recently shared his take on Kendrick Lamar's massive success and claimed that K. Dot owed it to Canadian rapper Drake. On December 30, 2024, DJ Akademiks posted a conversation involving Wack 100 on X. In the conversation, Wack 100 mentioned that Lamar owed his current success to Drizzy.
"When he (Lamar) dropped his first album, it only did 20,000 units. Drake to him on his first world tour, which he wasn't supposed to be there. So, now you're standing... with the biggest n*gga in rap at the time," he explained.
Wack 100 also discussed Lamar's departure from Top Dawg Entertainment in August 2021. According to the 47-year-old music executive, Lamar released another album, which didn't do well. He mentioned that K.Dot received a major "boost" this year during the diss with Drizzy.
"That Drake factor account for the initial and accounts for the rebirth."
According to Wack 100, Kendrick Lamar undoubtedly worked hard. However, the situation would have been different if Drizzy had not been involved. The music executive claimed that if there had been no rap beef with Drizzy, Lamar would not be enjoying so much fame and success.
For those unaware, Wack 100 was on Kendrick Lamar's side during the sensational beef, as HotNewHipHop reported on December 12, 2024. Wack had defended Kendrick several times, criticizing rappers like Top5 and Snoopy Badazz for apparently taking shots at the Compton rapper.
Wack 100 has previously claimed that he had some compromising information about Drake that could ruin the rapper's image
The music executive has been vocal about his opinions on the Kendrick Lamar—Drake beef. In a No Jumper podcast episode on December 16, Wack 100 claimed to have some evidence that could end Drizzy's career.
He claimed to have received a thumb drive containing information about Top5 a few months ago. During the podcast episode, he also suggested that the Canadian rapper stay away from Top5.
"Somebody, listen. Drake hit me. No troll. On Piru, you need to get away from that dude [Top5]. This has been in existence for 90 days, and I have made sure… and it hasn’t went anywhere, personally," he said, adding, "That dude, with his mouth and the things he says. It does not support your career and how far you’ve come."
This wasn't the first time that Wack 100 has criticized Top5. After the rapper apparently threatened Kendrick Lamar, the executive ridiculed him during Wack's latest conversation with DJ Vlad. He then said:
"We watched this same dude get mushed in the face and kicked in the a*s. I don't know where you come from, bro," Wack said.
Thus, Wack has been quite opinionated about the beef and about both Kendrick Lamar and Drake over time.
