Comedian Ricky Gervais took to X on June 18 and seemingly made fun of Justin Timberlake's recent arrest. The musician was arrested in New York for alleged drunk driving, as per BBC. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released without bail on Tuesday.

Shortly after his arrest made headlines, comedian Ricky Gervais took to X to seemingly joke about the incident. Tagging Timberlake in his post, he wrote:

"@jtimberlake Did you get the bottle of Dutch Barn Vodka I sent you the other day?"

Gervais joined Ellers Farm Distillery, the creators of Dutch Barn Orchard Vodka, as a co-owner in November 2023. As per the company's website, he focuses on "creative leadership in building global brand awareness and marketing efforts."

"Way to soon," another X user said.
"So wrong," a netizen added.

On June 18, Justin Timberlake was stopped at around 12:37 am local time in Sag Harbor, New York, after he drove through a stop sign. As per CBS News, authorities mentioned that he was "in an intoxicated condition."

As per court documents obtained by CNN, the singer was stopped by the officers in charge. Upon inquiry, Timberlake told them he "had one martini and I followed my friends home." The report also mentioned that he had "bloodshot and glassy" eyes and smelled strongly of alcohol. A Sag Harbor Village Police Department officer told the publication that he was "unable to divide attention."

“He had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardised field sobriety tests," they added.

Justin Timberlake was arrested, held overnight, and arraigned before he was released without bail. The Suffolk County district attorney’s office told CNN that the artist's next appearance in court is scheduled for July 26. It is expected to be virtual.

Justin Timberlake is scheduled to perform in Chicago’s United Centre on June 21 and 22 and at New York’s Madison Garden on June 25 and 26. The shows are a part of the tour for his sixth studio album, Everything I Thought It Was. It is currently unclear if the situation will impact his upcoming shows.
