Canadian singer Justin Bieber reportedly unfollowed his long-time friend and mentor Usher on Instagram. Fans first noticed the change on Monday, January 13, 2025. Usher had played a significant role in launching Bieber's career.
This step taken by the 30-year-old singer has caused massive speculation amongst netizens and fans. Along with Usher, he had unfollowed several people who were once close to him. The list reportedly included his ex-manager Scooter Braun, former bodyguard Kenny Hamilton, and Ryan Good who was the best man at his wedding.

What caught fans' attention was that while the singer had unfollowed so many notable people, he still had Diddy in his following list. Reacting to this an X user wrote,

Justin Bieber had previously spoken about his experiences in the music industry which weren't particularly appropriate
In 2020, Justin Bieber spoke to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe and shared his early experiences in the music industry. Bieber gained massive popularity when he was only 14, shortly after which he signed to Usher's label in 2008. Explaining his experience, Bieber told Lowe:

He further spoke about Billie Eilish, who was then 18 years old. The One Time singer expressed his wish to protect Eilish from the industry. He even mentioned that he did not want her to face anything that he had to go through during his journey. He even described some of his personal struggles to be "bad" and "dark." Justin Bieber additional stated:
"Think about how young I was and so impressionable and you have everybody telling me how awesome I am at all times. I just want people to understand the psychology of why I potentially could have problems in my life."
While Justin unfollowing Usher and many others sparked questions among fans, the singer has not responded to any speculations as of now.
