56-year-old singer Celine Dion made a surprise appearance on the live broadcast of NBC and Peacock’s Sunday Night Football in the US on Sunday, October 6. What caught fans' attention was that two crew members poured buckets of Gatorade on Dion.

The Canadian singer has recently started coming out in public more since she was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome. Her shocking appearance on Sunday was a part of the opening sequence of the game between the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers.

The moment of Celine Dion getting drenched with the energy drink prompted fans to take to social media and react. Here are some of the very popular responses found on X, formerly known as Twitter:

Celine Dion also gave a passionate speech on Sunday, in the opening ceremony of the game. She explained what she loved most about the event. In the speech, the singer mentioned:

"I think my favorite thing about this game is its power to connect who we are to who we were, to prove our most powerful memories, our most enduring loves can stay with us forever. You know what I’m talking about, right?"

Meanwhile, her popular 1996 track It's All Coming Back To Me Now was playing in the background. She then added:

"Sometimes, some nights, it all just comes back. The love affair. Well, maybe not ‘love’ the way I usually sing about it. But still… work with me here."

She further described the two teams playing that day as "a timeless classic." US Weekly reported that pouring Gatorade on her was the recreation of the classic coach moment where the team poured the energy drink on her head.

Celine Dion, however, acted like a sport by grinning and fist-pumping the air, proving an amazing sense of humor and love for the game.

The sudden appearance on Sunday happened after she performed at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony. She then revealed how honored she felt while getting a chance to perform there. This was her first performance in the Olympics after about four years.


Since the singer was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in 2022, she received some intense treatment which eventually resulted in her canceling a number of performances and events.

As for the her shocking latest appearance and passionate speech, fans expressed massive love and respect to the singer.
