"That’s all yall got from the interview?": Fans react as Tyrese Gibson says Snoop Dogg is a bigger rapper than Jay-Z

Tyrese Gibson is trending in the headlines after recently appearing for an interview on Club Shay Shay, hosted by Shannon Sharpe. In an episode aired on August 30, 2024, Tyrese asked who the "biggest rapper globally" is, adding that it was either Jay-Z or Snoop Dogg.

The F9 star stated that if both rappers went into a mall in Moscow, only Snoop Dogg could shut it down. Gibson continued praising Snoop Dogg by saying:

"Biggest f*cking superstar in the world. That's my big homie. Long Beach, West Coast, I wish a motherf*cker would."

While the conversation went viral on different platforms, netizens took to the comments section of a post shared by XXL Magazine on X (formerly Twitter), sharing different reactions to the words spoken by Tyrese Gibson. One of them wrote:

"That’s all yall got from the interview? lol"

The tweet was additionally flooded with many other responses, with people sharing their opinions on who the biggest rappers in the world were.

"Snoop never wrote anything for Jay. The answer is Jay-Z", a user wrote.
"I don't think anyone argues that Eminem Drake and Snoop are the biggest worldwide rappers", another user wrote.
"Snoop Dogg is a household name", a third user wrote.

Some fans of Jay-Z expressed frustration by saying that the rapper was frequently targeted through different conversations. A few others even appreciated Jay's music.

"Everyday y'all stir up arguments just to talk down on jay Z", a reaction reads.
"Jayz has better music, sold more music, and is all around better than Snoop", another reaction reads.

On the other hand, a section of the public also agreed with what Tyrese Gibson said.

"Snoop is the biggest rapper ever period", a user mentioned.
"I agree. Shoutout to Big Snoop Dogg!!!!", another user stated.

The 45-year-old's latest film, 1992, came out on the big screen on August 30, 2024. The premiere was held on the night of August 28, and it was attended by Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, who appeared alongside Gibson in Fast & Furious films.

Gibson also shared an Instagram post on August 28, sharing different moments from the event. He added a photo where he was standing with Diesel and Rodriguez, saying that he was an "emotional wreck" and added:

"One thing about me and this is not pride or ego my relationships and my friendships with some of the most powerful and significant people out. There are not abused don't obligate them to anything. There is no manipulation or trying to force anyone to show up for me for anything."

Tyrese Gibson mentioned that he did not force anyone to come and support him and does not need anyone's help. He continued:

"I don't obligate anyone to show up for my dreams so you could imagine everyone's busy everyone's kids and family and traveling and respectfully most of the most significant people I know are always gone always traveling always got a lot going on."

He additionally thanked everyone who came to the event, adding that he was "humbled and grateful beyond words." He even praised Lionsgate in the end, calling them "insane."
