"That shook me to my core" — Meagan Good gets candid about how divorce from DeVon Franklin affected her

Meagan Good appeared on the Club Shay Shay interview on July 12 and spoke about how her divorce from DeVon Franklin affected her. Stating how her faith was “tested” for two years, the actress added that she felt shaken up post separation. She continued narrating:

“Going through a divorce, that shook me to my core. I was just like, ‘But Lord you asked me to be celibate and I was. You know, you told me to marry that person.’ I tried to do everything to the best of my ability, and no, I didn’t do everything perfectly, but I don’t know that I could have done anything different if I’m being honest.”

During her interview, she also revealed how her greatest fear was that DeVon would leave her, just like her father did to her mother, stating that’s "exactly what happened.

For the unversed, Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin started dating in 2001 and announced their engagement in April 2012. They got married the same year, however, the couple called it quits in December 2021 after 9 years of marriage. Finally, in June 2022, their divorce was finalized.

“God has allowed it for good reason” — Meagan Good talks about her belief and divorce

As Meagan Good opened her heart out to host Shannon Sharpe in Club Shay Shay podcast, she spoke about how she did not believe in divorce at first, but then thought how “god allowed it to happen for a good reason.” Meagan Good stated:

“I had to accept that if this is something that I haven’t chosen but it’s something that God has allowed, then God has allowed it for good reason. And I think that we both have grown from it tremendously.”

Meagan continued:

"I think that now, at the time I was so mad at DeVon, but now I think what he did was very brave, and I think that it was a very scary thing to know that the church and the people and everyone were going to be like, ‘This is not what a man of God, a woman of God does.’”

She went on to explain how she would not have “gotten a divorce in any circumstances,” but clarified that “nothing bad was going on, and nobody was cheating.”

Moreover, Entertainment Tonight reported that Good has been dating Jonathan Majors since May 2023. While speaking to the publication in a July 9 interview, Good revealed that she still wants to have kids. Meagan said:

“I could definitely relate to that part of it because I still want to have kids and I'm still going to have kids. And one day I would like to get remarried and all those things."
