In the 3-minute-long video, Ebro voiced his grievance about Jay-Z's name being dragged in a s*xual assault lawsuit, saying:

"My biggest problem in all of this is the clown show that s*xual assaults have become... I don't know why so many people want to see Jay-Z get torn down. It's a nature of our culture that we aren't wanting to examine."

Ebro expressed frustration over s*xual assault allegations being treated like a "game," calling it "disgusting" and "upsetting." He criticized those who target successful individuals out of dislike for their business dealings or personal frustrations. Ebro also suggested that the lawsuit's victim, represented by Tony Buzbee, amended it to include another "big-name celebrity" to seek a financial settlement.

Ebro's video has since gone viral on X, amassing over 890K views (at the time of writing this).

Jay-Z has dismissed the legal action as a "blackmail attempt"

In the amended s*xual assault lawsuit filed against Jay-Z and Diddy on Sunday, December 8, the victim - an anonymous Jane Doe - alleged that she was assaulted by the rappers in 2000. Per the lawsuit, the victim was 13 years old at the time and was taken to the MTV VMA afterparty in New York.

It was at the afterparty that she claimed Diddy and Jay-Z drugged and r*ped her, BBC reported. Soon after the lawsuit was filed, Jay-Z issued a public statement in which he dismissed the demand letter sent by Tony Buzbee - the victim's attorney - as a "blackmail attempt."

The 55-year-old has also implored Buzbee to file a criminal complaint for these allegations, and not a civil one, seemingly suggesting that he is prepared to fight it in court. Jay-Z also said:

"You have made a terrible error in judgment thinking that all ‘celebrities’ are the same. I’m not from your moral world. I’m a young man who made it out of the project of Brooklyn. We don’t play these types of games. We have very strict codes and honor. We protect children, you seem to exploit people for personal gain."

Meanwhile, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, who is a co-defendant in the lawsuit, has also denied the accusation, per BBC. A statement released by Diddy's legal team has called the lawsuit the latest in a series of "shameless publicity stunts, designed to extract payments from celebrities who fear having lies spread about them, just as lies have been spread about Mr. Combs".

Ebro isn't the only person to discuss Jay-Z's mention in the amended s*xual assault lawsuit

While Ebro Darden spoke to Hot97 about his take on Jay-Z's recent inclusion in the Diddy lawsuit after it was re-amended, others have discussed the situation as well. On Monday, December 9, HotNewHipHop reported that Charlamagne Tha God also brought up the subject in the latest episode of The Breakfast Club.

Responding to the news of Jay-Z hitting Tony Buzbee with an extortion lawsuit, the radio host said:

"I'm glad Jay-Z responded just like that, because this has been going on for too long, it is a grift, accusers go to these lawyers with all these salacious claims, the lawyer will put more sauce on it... alot of people settle because they don't want the bad press"

Besides the lawsuit with Jay-Z as a co-defendant, Diddy faces over 30 other lawsuits as he awaits his trial, beginning on May 5, 2025.
