Billy Ray Cyrus' attorneys, Rose Palermo and Jason Talley recently issued a statement and posted it on the singer’s Instagram, stating that he and Firerose have settled their divorce. While the statement was posted on Billy Ray Cyrus’ account on Monday, August 5, 2024, the lawyers mentioned that the final settlement was reached on Friday, August 2, 2024.

Stating how the 7-month marriage was dissolved, the lawyers mentioned that “Mr. Cyrus is relieved to put this nightmare being him.”

“Further, a couple of weeks ago, prior to mediation, Ms. Hodges legally changed her last name from ‘Hodges’ to ‘Cyrus.’ Mr Cyrus feels that this validates his assertion that his ex-wife’s sole impetus for marrying him was to obtain his last name," the post further read.

The post also included a direct statement from Billy Ray Cyrus who claimed that he is now “relieved,” and called it “the most crazy scam ever.”

“I’m just very relieved… and giving thanks today to breathe a sigh of relief. This has been absolutely the most crazy insane scam I have ever heard of … Not only was it a web of lies that put me in physical danger … it was a matter of the heart. Love is blind … that’s for sure," Cyrus's statement read.

The former couple tied the knot in October 2023. However, just 7 months after being married, Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce in May 2024, stating that the couple was parting ways due to “irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct.” At the same time, during the divorce proceedings, the American singer had also requested a restraining order from his ex-wife, Firerose.

Firerose will not receive any alimony or spousal support from Billy Ray Cyrus: More details revealed

As Firerose and Billy Ray Cyrus got divorced after an ugly battle in court, Entertainment Online disclosed that Firerose would not be receiving any alimony or spousal support from her former husband, Cyrus. Instead, she will be receiving all the rights and royalties for the 17 songs that the couple created together.

The publication also specified more details about their wealth, as it stated that Cyrus would be keeping all horses, livestock, and his vehicles, while Firerose would be keeping her 2020 Mercedes car.

Firerose filed a complaint against Billy, as she accused him of “extreme verbal, emotional and psychological abuse.” In her complaint, she mentioned that Billy Ray Cyrus was extremely “unpredictable and volatile.”

She mentioned in her complaint:

“Wife was the victim of extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse. Wife was subjected to Husband’s persistent drug use accompanied with the consumption of marijuana which made Husband unpredictable and volatile towards Wife. With Wife’s major surgery date looming, she was reasonably afraid to leave or seek any type of help because she feared that Husband would interfere with her surgery or her lengthy recovery at home.”

On the other hand, Billy also mentioned in his petition how Firerose created a rift between him and his daughters. He stated that she was a “fraud,” and was only interested in his last name so that she could make a name for herself in the music industry.

Posting about the same on his Instagram stories on July 24, Billy stated:

“I saw before my very own eyes. Everything I thought I knew about her was a lie. She was trying to take over my career, my life and usurp the Cyrus name for her own gain. See you in court.”

As the couple has now parted ways, social media users have a mixed opinion, as many are bashing Firerose, while others are siding with her. At the same time, Firerose has not yet commented on the situation after their divorce was finalized a few days back.
