In an interview with Complex, Snoop Dogg opened up about meeting Paul McCartney, and how he has been a “fan of The Beatles.” In the interview published on August 19, 2024, the Drop It Like It’s Hot rapper said:
“You know what’s crazy? I was doing a little concert for somebody in Hollywood. Paul McCartney was there. I’d never met him before but I’m a f*cking fan of the Beatles. I know Jimmy Iovine knows him, Dre knows him. I’m in the back smoking and they like, ‘Sir Paul would like to meet you.’ I’m like, ‘For real? Hold on.’”
He continued:
“I put the blunt out. Cuz walked in the room like, ‘Don’t put that down.’ He gives me a hug and he meets me and it’s like, Paul McCartney knows who the f*ck Snoop Dogg is. F*ck who Snoop Dogg is; this is Paul McCartney! He knows who I am! That’s the experience I love is when people you respect, respect you.”
After Snoop Dogg and Paul McCartney met, photos of them hugging were shared on social media, posted by The Beatles' official X account.
Born in 1942, Paul McCartney rose to fame after he, along with John Lennon formed The Beatles. The band released their first album Please Please Me in 1963. Other albums including With the Beatles, A Hard Day’s Night, Rubber Soul, Revolver and many others were released in the following few years.

Snoop Dogg was also asked if he would like to collaborate with Paul McCartney anytime in the future, as the interviewer talked about Paul’s hit song with Rihanna and Kanye West, FourFiveSeconds.
“F*ck yes, in a heartbeat. Ebony and Ivory'? What, 'The Girl Is Mine'? What you want to do?” Dogg responded.
During an interview with Complex, Snoop Dogg, joined by Dr. Dre, reminisced about meeting other legendary musicians, including a memorable encounter with Stevie Wonder. Talking about their meeting with the Part-Time Lover singer, Dr. Dre said:
“He’s one of my heroes. I would absolutely go in there with him. I don’t know what I would do. What do I do in a room with Stevie Wonder? That’s one of my heroes. I was always taught, maybe you shouldn’t meet your heroes. It might change your perspective.”
Snoop Dogg also made his way into the headlines during the Paris Olympics, held in late July and early August, as he was a torch bearer in the opening ceremony. He was also seen cheering many teams during the matches, as many pictures from the games made their way on social media.
Snoop Dogg is preparing to release his upcoming album, Missionary, in November 2024. Produced by his longtime collaborator, Dr. Dre, the album will feature artists like 50 Cent and Sting. The duo has frequently discussed the new songs and collaborations.
