Young Thug made his way into the headlines after he posted a diss post for Gunna on X, on November 9, 2024. In a now-deleted post, Young Thug said:

“Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet. I don’t know you my guy.”

However, as the post quickly reached the masses, many netizens noticed how it was deleted promptly, and several social media users began pouring in their reactions. As an X user, @DailyNoud posted the screenshots of the tweets made by the rapper, many started speculating how Young Thug would come up with the excuse that his account might have been hacked.

An X user responded to the post and said:

“Ah. The good ol "I'm Hacked" trick. Never Fails.”

Others also made similar speculations and commented:

“Bro did all this sh*t and claim his acct was hacked. That's a f*ckin lie y'all,” wrote one X user.
“Bro trying to fake tweet to cover it up,” added another social media user on the post.
“He’s tryna make him break probation,” commented a netizen.

Others also wrote how Young Thug was in prison for two years, and at the time his account wasn’t hacked.

“Been in prison all of 2 years and all of a sudden it's hAcKeD. Ok,” mentioned a user.
“Bro tried something after very long time and couldn't control himself ig,” exclaimed another.

Young Thug was released from prison after spending two years behind bars

Young Thug, the 33-year-old Grammy-winning rapper whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, was freed from jail Thursday evening. He had been detained for over 900 days following his arrest on gang, drug, and weapon charges. After pleading guilty, he received a sentence of time served along with 15 years of probation.

As per BBC, Prosecutors initially sought a 45-year sentence, including 25 years in prison, but Judge Paige Whitaker decided on a reduced punishment, crediting his time already served and clearing the way for his release. During his hearing, Young Thug described himself as a “good guy with a good heart.” He said:

"I take full responsibility for my crimes, for my charges," Mr Williams told the court. To really everybody that has got something to do with this situation, I want to say sorry. I am a good guy with a good heart who found himself in a lot of stuff because I was just nice or cool.”

He continued:

“I understand that you can't be that way when you reach a certain height because it could end badly... and it could fall on you."

As a part of the plea deal, Thug pleaded guilty to one gang charge, along with three drug charges and two gun charges. For the same, Judge Whitaker ruled that Thug would be doing 100 hours of community service, and has placed a ban on Thug to get in contact with any of his gang members or the former co-defendants.

Thug was arrested on May 9, 2022, on gang-related charges. The rapper, along with Gunna were among the 28 people who were arrested by the authorities on charges of RICO, which stated that the rapper was involved in activities like racketeering, robbery, drugs and much more.

However, as the rapper has now been released after 2 years, the masses have a variety of opinions on the same. At the moment, Thug has neither addressed his release nor has spoken about the tweet he allegedly posted for Gunna.
