DJ Akademiks took to X on Monday, December 9, to address Rapsody in a tweet, telling her "I told you." The DJ's tweet came after Jay-Z was accused in a s*xual lawsuit alongside Diddy on Sunday. Rapsody is signed to the Brooklyn's Finest rapper's record label Roc Nation.

For the unversed, the controversy between DJ Akademiks and Rapsody started last week, when the rapper name-checked Akademiks in a freestyle rap over Kendrick Lamar's TV Off last week, per HotNewHipHop's report on December 7.

The verse of Rapsody's rap that dissed DJ Akademiks is as follows:

"Feel like a Greek how I be stepping on these b****h n***as/Akademik, affidavits/ Entertainment n***as who got open cases/ women charges, they say you violated"

Addressing Rapsody's alleged jab in a Twitch stream, DJ Akademiks called her a "hypocrite" for talking about open cases without addressing ones in which the owner of Roc Nation was allegedly involved.

It was when Akademiks' video addressing Rapsody was followed by the news of Jay-Z being involved in an alleged s*xual assault lawsuit that the DJ said "I told you" to her on X.

The tweet has since gone viral on the social media platform, amassing over 780K views, with netizens reacting to the controversy between the celebrity musicians.

Some netizens claimed that Drake's name was allegedly used to keep the spotlight away from Diddy and Jay-Z. Hence referencing his track The Heart Part 6, released on May 5, 2024, during his feud with American rapper Kendrick Lamar.

"They really tried to use drake to distract from Jay and Diddy and they couldn’t even get one girl to take a payout to lie on Drake. It’s insane how obviously true these reports are," one person commented.
"I’m happy the truth is finally coming out about what a terribIe person Jay z is. i hope that girl gets justice," another person said.
"Ak this is the perfect gotcha moment. People should not be so quick to judgement," another netizen said.

Meanwhile, others pointed out that the s*xual assault allegations against the Friend or Foe rapper could bring his entire record label down.

"'ROC NATION YOU WILL CRUMBLE' ochoeing infinitely," one person said.
"LMAOOOOO own all those P*do Nation frauds," one netizen wrote.
"Remember when Drake said he was too rich & powerful to be a s*xual predator & target children?" another X user said.

Jay-Z has denied the claims made in the s*xual assault lawsuit involving Diddy

According to Variety's December 8 report, the s*xual assault lawsuit in which Jay-Z has recently been named a defendant was first filed back in October 2024, with only Diddy being mentioned in it.

An anonymous Jane Doe is the victim in the lawsuit, who claims that Combs and Jay-Z, originally named Shawn Carter, allegedly r*ped her in 2000. Per the lawsuit, the rapper duo brought Jane Doe to an MTV VMA afterparty, where the incident took place.

The So Ghetto rapper responded to the lawsuit soon after it was made public with a statement of his own on Roc Nation's social media pages. In his statement, the 55-year-old claimed that Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing Jane Doe had sent his lawyers a demand letter, which he saw as a "blackmail attempt" and led to the rapper wanting to expose him.

Further in his statement, Jay-Z implored Buzbee to file a criminal complaint against him, and not a civil one. He also added that the only heartbreak he felt at the accusation was for his family, especially his children. Towards the end of his statement, the Otis rapper said:

"You have made a terrible error in judgment thinking that all ‘celebrities’ are the same. I’m not from your moral world. I’m a young man who made it out of the project of Brooklyn. We don’t play these types of games. We have very strict codes and honor. We protect children, you seem to exploit people for personal gain."

Jay-Z signed off by adding that he looked forward to showing Tony Buzbee just how different he was.

Diddy, who was arrested on September 16, is currently held in the Brooklyn Metropolitan Correctional Center. The hip-hop rapper awaits his trial, which has been scheduled to begin on May 5, 2025, after his final request to be released on $50 million bail was denied by the judge.
