Nicki Minaj has been trending on social media since she showcased her support for Lil Wayne after he was not chosen as the headliner for the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show 2025. The rapper's fans also reacted to the same on different platforms.

Wayne recently uploaded a video through his Instagram page on September 13, 2024, addressing his regret for the same and Minaj reacted to the post by sharing a comment below it. Minaj began by writing:

"This too, shall pass – but what you have done for the Hip Hop culture will remain. It will stand the test of time. Many times our greatest & most dehumanizing test is just a way for God to get the glory. You were simply used in a war of egos. To ppl who are empty inside, all they have is their temporary power."

Nicki Minaj referred to those who were "spending money" to spread the "worst" of Wayne, saying that God would replace it with the best of Wayne. She said that all human beings are not perfect and continued:

"When they go out of their way to circulate the worst of human beings, the worst of them shall be circulated & magnified, TOO!!!!! It will be their demise. The Lord has warned them time & time & time again. Their stone cold hearts believe they are above reproach but this time they'll regret it."

However, Nicki Minaj's words were not well-received by the public and they criticized her in the comments section of The Shade Room's Instagram post, which included a screenshot of Nicki's response. One of them wrote:

Fans of Kendrick Lamar, who has been selected as the headliner of the event, also slammed Minaj, saying that no one has congratulated Lamar until now. Others stated that the issue of Wayne not being chosen to perform was something that could be ignored, and one user urged netizens to talk about a lynching incident in North Carolina where a "young black man" was a victim.

Nicki Minaj replies to Stephen A. Smith after she shows support for Lil Wayne

Also known as Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, she is currently in the headlines for another reason. While her support for Lil Wayne grabbed a lot of attention from the public, she also posted a tweet targeting Stephen A. Smith who shared a few words related to her disputes over the years as he appeared on his show on September 12, 2024.

Smith said on the show that Nicki Minaj had problems with many artists over the years such as Cardi B and Taylor Swift. He addressed the same by saying:

"You disagree with the decision, you disagree with the decision. You got to talk about [Jay-Z] like that? And why are we talking about Jay-Z like he's some sort of sellout or something?"

Smith stated that it is not easy for a "Black man" to achieve everything like Jay-Z did throughout his career. Smith continued:

"How unappreciative can you be? It ain't about you as an individual – it's about all of us as Black people. And that brother Jay-Z has been front and center pushing envelopes."

Nicki Minaj responded to Smith by reposting a tweet shared on the official page of Tea With Tia on X (formerly Twitter). She wrote that no one cared about what he had to say and added:

"Oh look yall another paid laughy taffy alien who only comes off his knees to turn around 7 back dat a*z up."
