NLE Choppa left the internet floored after comparing himself to Michael Jackson in his most recent Instagram post. NLE Choppa, whose real name is Bryson Lashun Potts, took to Instagram on September 16 to upload a video of himself performing at a concert. He captioned the social media post:
“Michael Jackson Of Hip Hop. Point Blank Period”
His post comes after he expressed outrage after being left out of Complex’s ‘Top 20 rap artists in their 20’s’ list. This is not the first time the musician has drawn parallels with the pop legend.
Not many seem to believe that Choppa deserves to be compared to the late pop star. Under The Shade Room's Instagram repost of the rapper's video, one netizen said:

What did NLE Choppa say about Michael Jackson? Inside the rapper’s Power 106 Los Angeles interview
NLE Choppa appeared on the Power 106 Los Angeles radio station in 2021 and discussed being compared to Michael Jackson and Tupac Shakur.
“I don’t know, I feel like I get a lot of Michael Jackson ‘cause of the type of energy I bring. Somebody even said I look like him, I don’t know about that… And I get 2Pac too, because of what I stand for, what type of principles I stand for outside of music. With me, it’s not about the music all the time, it’s about who I can impact. Whose life I can change,” he said.
After followers took to the internet to express disbelief over the comparison, Choppa tweeted:
“These comparisons got nothing to do with me MUSICALLY. Everything to do with what I stand for outside of it. I’m prolific I stand for some that can change the world.”
Meanwhile, the Mephis-born emcee continues to make headlines for his opinions on the Complex list. NLE Choppa recently took to Instagram to share his opinion on not being included on Complex’s list by saying that the publication’s “a*s need to go do rock and roll or some other sh*t.”
He said he was trying to remain positive, but the publication got him “f**ked up” and that they keep “playing” with him. He further opined that the list should have included 21 rappers so he could make it on it as well. Later, he took to listing his accomplishments, including platinum and gold certifications.
The Top 5 rappers that made it to the list included Playboi Carti, Doja Cat, Central Cee, Megan Thee Stallion, and Yeat.
