Soulja Boy has been trending on social media for some time after he shared a lineup of posts through X (formerly Twitter), addressing a few events that are going on around the world. He posted a total of five tweets on January 11, 2025, and the first one reads:
"If they really remove TikTok then that means America is f**ked."
In one of the tweets, the rapper wrote that the entire world is evil alongside another where he said that he cannot trust anyone. On the other hand, Soulja also referred to the ongoing fires in Los Angeles and said:
"Whole LA burned down like it was nothing."
He ended by sharing a post that featured a message to Drake and stated:
"Time to disappear. PS Drake u went out sad."
Notably, Soulja Boy did not mention anything about why he mentioned Drake in the final tweet. Although the rappers are not having any disputes so far, Drake released a collaboration project with Lil Yachty titled Super Soak in July last year, where Drake allegedly dissed Soulja. The song's title and a portion of the lyrics referred to Soulja's single Super Soak. The lyrics stated:
"I'm watching the moves, playin' it close/SOD, super soak."
While Drake has not shared any response to Soulja Boy's tweets, netizens took to the comments section of The Shade Room's Instagram post to react to the same. One of them addressed the mention of Drake in the last tweet and wrote:
"The random Drake stray killed me."
Similar replies continued, with most of them questioning the reasons behind Drake's name appearing in Soulja's tweet. Apart from them, a social media user, seemingly a fan of Soulja, wrote that Drake can never win with him. Another user made fun of the fact that Drake's name was featured in a tweet that was about news.
One of the responses referred to the word PS in the tweet, alleging that Soulja Boy was trying to be disrespectful. This was followed by a second user who called Soulja "entertaining" alongside a third user who stated that Soulja was "funny."
Soulja Boy confirmed that Drake's lyrics were not targeted at him
A July 2024 report by Vibe magazine stated that Soulja responded to the alleged diss at the time. He appeared on an Instagram Live session the same month when the track came out, saying that he was fine with any kind of "shout-out." However, he also mentioned:
"Drake, you better keep that s**t light, my boy. This your first and only warning, my boy. I'm telling you some gangsta s**t."
However, Soulja later appeared for an interview with TMZ in July 2024, where he revealed that he found the truth behind the lyrics as he stated:
"I got to the bottom of that and I holla'd at Drake and them and it wasn't no diss. That song was a snippet, that was a leak. That song wasn't even supposed to come out. That's Lil Yachty song, but shout out to the boy Drake."
Soulja Boy has not announced any new album so far. His last major project was Big Draco 3, which was released in 2022.
