Drake took to Instagram to release three new songs, including Circadian Rhythm, SOD, and No Face, on Friday, August 23, 2024. He released the tracks on his Instagram burner account, @plottttwistttttt. Internet users have since taken to the internet to react to the last track, No Face, believing that it was aimed at Kendrick Lamar.
In No Face, Drake and Playboi Carti went back and forth on an exciting beat. In the song, the former also took his time to call out rappers who had dissed him this year. Lyrics read as follows :
“N**gas got lit off the features I skated on/ I gotta know, I gotta know/ How you get lit off the n*gga you hated on?/ Numbers untouchable, they got the data wrong/ The moment I know they been praying on/ Trying on The Boy, but f**k it/ I’m staying on.”
Other lyrics in the song included:
“My therapist put in a 30 day notice cause I keep on talking bout beefin and business and money and women/ It’s no diagnosis, they emptied the clip/ And I came back reloaded/ I’m just so happy that n*ggas who envied and held that sh*t got to finally showing/ We’ll see you boys soon.”
Internet users have since taken to X to react to Drake seemingly addressing his feuds through his latest songs. One person stated:
A few other reactions read:
“Lord don’t give up on e the way drake doesn’t wanna give up,” an X user said.
“We getting more diss songs,” another internet user said.
“Is anyone else become disinterested with this artist,” a platform user commented.
The three songs were released after the Certified Lover Boy rapper took to the internet to release a massive folder of unseen footage on the 100gigs.org website. Footage included songs such as It’s Up, Blue Green Red and Housekeeping Knows, along with behind-the-scenes footage, tour set designs, and studio clips. Meanwhile, other reactions to No Face and the alleged diss to Lamar read:
“Bro is still spiraling,” an X user said.
“KENNY GET UP,” a platform user commented.
“He still talking,” a netizen wrote online.
Evidently, not all followers seem to be pleased with the song. A few other reactions read:
“Say it with me DRAKE fans. “It’s over, Drake lost.” Tell him to create a Canadian sound,” an X user said.
“This boy still in survival mode and trying to convince himself that he isn’t. Whole time his fans are delusional and don’t see it. Lmao. He need to just forget about the beef and go make some catchy songs,” an internet user opined.
More about Drake’s other new tracks as songs garner backlash online
Internet users may recognize SOD’s rhythm as streamer Kai Cenat leaked Drizzy’s Super Soak track with a similar beat during one of his livestreams.
Many also believe that even Circadian Rhythm was aimed at Kendrick Lamar, as the song seemingly drew inspiration from K. Dot’s 6:16 in LA lyric:
“Often, I know this type of power is gon’ cost/ But I live in circadian rhythms of a shooting star,"
Meanwhile, Drizzy was in the midst of a legal battle with UMG after releasing Blue Green Red, It’s Up and Housekeeping Knows on streaming. Universal also hit Drizzy’s Instagram burner account with a copyright strike, which led to the account disappearing briefly. However, it appears as though matters have been resolved as the account appears normal again.
