American guitarist and singer Ted Nugent and his son Rocco released a song about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump at the Pennsylvania rally. The song, titled Who Shot Trump, was released on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
Nugent, who has openly voiced his support for former President Donald Trump, begins the track with a warning tone, where Nugent sang that those who shot the ex-president had "f*cked up." Rocco then continues:
"But now you got problems when you f*ck with us / He’s our guy / Here’s the reason why / You had your shot but he ain’t die / Inside job / I don’t care / Y’all just protect that man right there / It’s time to fight..."

Ted Nugent has always been a staunch supporter of Donald Trump
This wasn't the first time musician Ted Nugent expressed vocal support for the current Republican Party nominee for the upcoming elections. Known for his far-right political views, Nugent has often faced criticism. In 2021, shortly after the US Capitol Attack, the controversial musician blamed several BLM activists for causing it.
In a May 2021 video posted on YouTube, Ted and his wife Shemane made controversial statements regarding BLM activism. In the video, they said that "systemic racism" wasn't prevalent in the United States, claiming that by 2021 the concept of "systemic racism" has been fixed, leading to the end of white supremacy. Ted stated:
"It’s not a threat. White supremacists haven’t burned down Seattle or Portland. They didn’t burn down Kenosha. They didn’t burn down Minneapolis."
He further claimed the BLM movements and their supporters were the ones that "hated Americans." He added:
"They [BLM activists] burn down cities and destroy things. There are no white supremacists doing that. There might be a couple of dirt bag white supremacists out there, but they’re virtually inconsequential. It’s bullsh*t."
In 2021, the musician made another statement, as per Blabbermouth, claiming that the US didn't have a gun problem. Instead, he blamed the idea of making the convicts re-enter society, leading to an increase in crimes involving such weapons. According to Ted, once convicted, they should never be allowed to leave prison and have chances of rehabilitating in society.
Over the period, the musician and his son Rocco have shown more interest in expressing their far-right beliefs than promoting their music projects.
Nugent's latest Trump-related track was launched just a day before the former President made an appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists on July 31.
