Netizens also praised Kendrick Lamar and his hit track Not Like Us, which recently inspired a video game as well.
Kamala Harris previously made a Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us reference at the 2024 BET Awards
The viral video that had taken the internet by storm, wasn't the first time that Harris was associated with Kendrick Lamar's popular diss track Not Like Us. On June 30, Harris made a surprise appearance at the 2024 BET Awards, through a pre-recorded bit, where she could be seen talking to the awards show host Taraja P. Henson on FaceTime.
In the middle of the conversation, both Harris and Henson expressed concern about the upcoming Presidential Elections, to be held this November. Henson said,
"Women’s reproductive rights are on the line, our Supreme Court is on the line. Our basic freedoms are being tested Madame VP! I know you’ve been traveling across the country, what have you been hearing."
The Vice President had further responded with an agreeing tone, and said,
"Yeah, girl I’m out here in these streets, and let me tell you — you’re right, Taraji, there is so much at stake in this moment. The majority of us believe in freedom and equality. But these extremists, as they say — they 'not like us.'"
Meanwhile, Kamala Harris has received support from many Hollywood celebrities. After Joe Biden stepped down from the presidential race, actor George Clooney made a supportive statement to CNN:
"President Biden has shown what true leadership is. He’s saving democracy once again. We’re all so excited to do whatever we can to support Vice President Harris in her historic quest."
In June, a fundraiser was organized by Clooney and Julia Roberts, to raise funds for Biden's campaign. With more than $30 million, it became the largest Democratic fundraiser to date. Several other stars including Cardi B, Jamie Lee Curtis, Demi Lovato, Shonda Rhimes, Damon Lindelof, and Barbra Streisand endorsed Kamala Harris.
American film producer and philanthropist Abigail Disney was one of those people who were very transparent with the idea that Democrats wouldn't win with Biden this time. After he decided to step down, Abigail told CNBC that Kamala Harris was a good candidate and that she was again donating to the Democratic Party.
