Macklemore left internet users weary after cursing at America during his recent Palestine Will Live Forever performance that took place in Seattle.

The rapper resorted to doing so to shun the government for backing Israel amid its conflict with Palestine. This is not the first time the singer has publicly supported Palestine.

In a video that has gone viral, Macklemore can be heard telling concertgoers, “F**k America.” He also added, “Straight up, say it. I’m not going to stop you. I’m not going to stop you.”

As the musician, whose real name is Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, continued to throw expletives at the country, the crowd cheered on.

Videos of the occurrence had amassed millions of views online at the time of writing this article.

Macklemore revealed on the internet that the proceeds from the festival, which was held at Seward Park Amphitheatre, would go to various non-profit organizations. This includes the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees.

Several netizens were displeased with the singer’s attitude, with many asking him to leave the country. Some reactions to his concert antics read:

“Hey @macklemore, since you hate America so much why don’t you leave? Thanks,” an X user said.
“If you hate this country, then get tf out. Go find one that represents your ideals. American doesn't want or need your trash here,” another platform user said.

Macklemore had not publicly responded to the backlash at the time of writing this article. Meanwhile, netizens continued to flood the internet with similar sentiments. Some other comments online read:

“If America is so bad leave,” an X user said.
“Cool. He has a pretty nice lifestyle to be so vocal about oppression,” another platform user said.
“You can get out.. and take the 12 million illegals with you,” a netizen commented.

Macklemore has been vocal about his politics for some time now. Last month, he canceled his upcoming October concert in Dubai due to the UAE’s role in the “genocide and humanitarian crisis” in Sudan, as per his Instagram account. Meanwhile, other reactions read:

“F**k these commies,” an internet user said.
“F**k America yet he works in America, he lives in America and his fans are in America,” another netizen said.

Inside Macklemore’s Hind’s Hall pro-Palestine song as recent support to the country sparks outrage online

In May, the Kent, Washington-based artist released the song Hind’s Hall (the name referred to the Columbia University building), which students renamed in honor of a 6-year-old girl who was killed during the Israel and Gaza conflict.

The song praised college campuses across the country for supporting Palestine and called out the government, the music industry, and the police.

Days ago, the singer dropped another rendition of the song, which also gave a platform to Palestinian artists, including photojournalist Motaz Azaiza, who provided the cover photo for the song. Some other Palestinian artists who co-created the song include MC Abdul and Amer Zahr, among others. Lyrics include:

“In our lifetime we will be free, and they can bury us, but they will find out we are seeds.”

The song also mentioned presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris. Lyrics read:

“Hey Kamala, I don’t know if you listening, but stop sending money and weapons, you ain’t winning Michigan. We are committed, and hell no we ain’t switching positions, because the whole world turned Palestinian.”

It was announced that all proceeds from the song, which includes both renditions, would be donated to UNRWA.
