Candace Owen’s recently released interview with Kanye West, which was shot in 2022, has created a stir on social media. In the podcast uploaded by Owens on August 8, 2024, Kanye pours his thoughts on how Beyoncé should let Jay-Z cheat on her. The rapper is heard saying:
“I just think Yoncé need to let him go get some p*ssy, seriously. Go to DR or something like that, you know what I mean?”
As Kanye says the line, Candace first looks shocked and then bursts into laughter. However, the clip soon started circulating on multiple social media platforms, and many started reacting to Ye's words about Beyoncé and Jay-Z. As an X account, Kurrco uploaded the clip, one social media user commented and said:
“There’s truth in the madness.”
Many others also commented on the post.
“Jay Z must be mad with Kanye now,” stated one social media user.
“LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO Kanye is so wrong for this,” exclaimed another netizen.
“This is proof Why Jayz dont want to f*k with crazy Kanye anymore,” wrote another social media user.
“Ye is definitely crazy for saying that out of the blue like that,” stated another netizen on the post.
“Bro is so wrong,” claimed another X user on the post.
“Jay-Z is the greatest rapper ever by the inspiration”- Kanye West and Jay-Z’s feud explained as the former talks about the Drunk in Love rapper
While West’s statement about Beyoncé and Jay-Z has created a buzz on social media, moments before he asked Beyoncé to let her husband cheat on her, he appreciated Jay and commented on what makes him and Drake special. Ye said:
“Drake is the best rapper ever by the numbers. Jay-Z is the greatest rapper ever by the inspiration.”
The beef between Jay-Z and West started years back, before which the two often worked together. Highsnobeity reported that Ye was responsible for producing tracks for Roc-A-Fella Records. The two also released their collaborative album, Watch the Throne in 2011, which became a massive hit among the masses at the time.
As the album became a hit, the two rappers also ventured on a Watch the Throne tour in October 2011 and performed in 34 cities in North America. However, as per Highsnobeity, the tension between West and Jay-Z started when he and his wife, Beyoncé did not make it to West’s wedding with Kim Kardashian.
Furthermore, in many interviews and shows, Kanye began slamming Jay-Z, when he highlighted how he did not call Kim and West when Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris. As per NME, West addressed the same on his Saint Pablo tour in Seattle, and told the crowd:
“Don’t call me after the robbery and say 'how you feelin?' You wanna know how I’m feelin? Come by the house. Bring the kids by the house. Like we’re brothers. Let’s sit down. I can’t take this shit bro. Our kids have never even played together.”
Their feud became public after a documentary named, Public Enemies: Jay-Z Vs. Kanye aired in July 2017. However, after years of feud, the duo was again seen together on Diddy’s 50th birthday in December 2019.
Things became tense once again when Ye mentioned Jay-Z’s name during his Vultures event in Las Vegas in December, last year. At the time, West said:
"That's what I'm trying to say to you ni**as right f**king now, ni**a. Drake, this is what you been waiting for. Jay-Z, this is what you been waiting for. Adidas, this is what you been waiting for. Kim, this is what you been waiting for."
While it is not clear as to what terms they share with one another, the netizens were quick to react to the statement made by the rapper.
