Ariana Grande appeared on the Shut Up Evan podcast on July 9, 2024. During the episode, the singer addressed the question about the tour in support of her album Eternal Sunshine. Stating to the host Evan Ross Katz, Grande revealed that she wanted to do the tour even now. She said:
"I still want it, too. I think it would be a really lovely idea to be able to trickle in some shows in between the two Wicked films. I think there’s a version of that that exists."
The singer later added that she was planning the yet-to-be-announced tour like a series of 'a mini, little sampling of shows' and not as a full-length tour like her previous tours. However, no dates have been set as of now. Ariana Grande's last tour titled Sweetener World Tour was held in 2019.
Ariana Grande's 'Eternal Sunshine' album was released in 2024
Ariana Grande released her latest studio album, Eternal Sunshine, on March 8, 2024. Highly successful upon its release, the album has charted at the top spot on the Billboard 200 album chart and has been gold-certified in the UK, and Canada, among others.
The singer elaborated on the album's themes and background in an exclusive interview with the Zach Sang Show on February 26, 2024, stating;
"The loss and grief that you hear some of the album, some of the heartbreak stuff, there was so much love and transparency. That was something I really wanted to make sure was captured, wasn’t like a ‘f**k you’ at all and ever. Even track number 2 [“bye”], I tried to make sure it was kind and giving credit for trying and for the goodness that there was."
The singer continued:
"So, that was a tricky balance for me because I definitely had some sessions where I was writing more emotionally and reactively but that’s also very human so I didn’t want to erase all of it."
Ariana Grande's 'Wicked' Films will be released in 2024 and 2025
Ariana Grande stars as the character of Galinda Upland aka Glinda the Good in the two Wicked films by Jon M. Chu. The films are set to be released on November 22, 2024 and November 26, 2025 respectively.
Ariana Grande spoke about her upcoming role in the films and the friendship between her and her co-star Cynthia Erivo in her appearance on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on June 6, 2024. In response to the film's trailer and teaser footage, Grande shared:
"This is something that Cynthia [Erivo] and I lived every single day. It was ours for so long. It was just every single day for such a long time. And to share it with people, and to feel the love that we've received in response has been really overwhelming."
The singer continued:
"But the funniest thing is, people saying, 'It must be so weird to see it with all the VFX now. Isn't that weird?' And I'm like, 'Well, yes, they did add some flying monkeys and some animals, but these were really practical sets that we were so blessed to be a part of'."
The films are musical fantasy and are the latest adaptation of the 1995 novel of the same name by Gregory Maguire, as well as characters from the novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Frank L. Baum. Aside from her role in the films, Grande has also acted in the film Don't Look Up, among other works.
