American rapper and singer Swae Lee recently had Tesla Optimus Robot sing his song Sunflower. Tech giant Elon Musk unveiled the robot on October 10 at Tesla's We, Robot event, where Swae Lee and 2 Chainz were among the attendees.

During the event, Swae Lee requested one of the robots to perform Sunflower, and when it finished singing the song, the crowd cheered with delight. This moment came after Musk described the robot during the event.

After a video of the performance went viral, netizens flocked to X to talk about Optimus and express their opinion about it. Most of the X users were not convinced that it was a robot. One person on X wrote:

“There's no way that isn't someone over a mic. If not that's awesome if it can recognize him.”

Other netizens also preached to the choir and wrote similar comments. However, some netizens were worried about the robot uprising in "10 years."

“We going to act like someone isn't somewhere talking through a microphone?” commented one user.
“Nahh why does it actually feel so human wtf,” wrote one user.
“The first time one of these things goes off the rails and squashes a toddlers head like a melon is gonna be a crazy day for posting on here,” joked one user.
“I’m a little worried what we gon have in 10 years,” another netizen wrote.

On the other hand, many even compared the robot and the entire event to futuristic Hollywood movies, such as I, Robot.

“America turning into this movie!” commented one user.
“This looks like of the robots from call of duty,” one netizen said.
“I can’t help but to think of IRobot with will smith. That robot is Sonny,” wrote another X user.

Swae Lee sings Sunflower with Elon Musk's Tesla Optimus Robot

On Thursday, October 10, Elon Musk hosted the We, Robot event at Warner Bros. Studio in California, where he gave attendees a sneak peek at the Tesla Optimus Robot.

During the event, Musk stated that the new 5'8" robot can be "your own personal R2D2 [or] C-3PO." Furthermore, according to Musk, the Optimus "can do anything you think of." More than a dozen robots, one of which served drinks behind a bar, wandered the event area and engaged with the patrons.

Singers Swae Lee and 2 Chainz also had the chance to examine and get a close-up look at the Optimus robot. Additionally, one of the robots performed a rendition of Swae Lee's song Sunflower at his request, along with the singer himself.

Meanwhile, during the robot's introduction, Musk emphasized how it might drastically change daily life by performing tasks like childcare, yard maintenance, dog walks, and even beverage pouring. During the ceremony, a video was played showing an Optimus model watering plants and picking up items at the door.

Musk then told the audience:

"It'll be able to do anything you want. So it can be a teacher or babysit your kids. It can walk your dog, mow your lawn, get the groceries, just be your friend, serve drinks, whatever you can think of, it will do... I think this will be the biggest product ever of any kind."

He further added that anyone could buy it and that it would be less expensive than a car. Musk went on to say that the Optimus robot will also be capable of carrying out specific jobs, including engaging with kids, moving boxes in warehouses, and doing housework.

Additionally, Musk said that once they begin mass production, the robots will cost not more than $20,000 to $30,000.

Nevertheless, since the event, Musk hasn’t commented on the incident involving the robot's performance of Sunflower.
