Taylor Swift recently announced on Instagram that she would be voting for Kamala Harris in the upcoming Presidential elections. This post came shortly after the much-awaited debate between Donald Trump and Harris. In the Instagram post, Taylor Swift wrote:

"I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I'm voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them."

Within weeks after the singer endorsed Harris, Trump took to Truth Social to post:

"I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!"

Though it wasn't clear what prompted his outburst. However, many speculated it was due to Swift's endorsement of Harris.

Following Trump's post, Flavor Flav took to X on Sunday, September 15, 2024. He wrote:

"I LOVE TAYLOR SWIFT!!"

Subsequently, a user named @took_ur_ tweeted:

"Pandering to the swifties? Pretty pathetically hilarious."

This made Flav respond through another tweet, where he commented:

"You must be new here,,, allow me to reintroduce myself,,, they call me KING SWIFTIE 👍🏾"

Flavor Flav also reposted a tweet by Mark Hamill, where he extended support to Taylor after she made a public statement about her political inclination.

Taylor Swift received widespread support after Donald Trump made Truth Social post about hating her

As mentioned earlier, pop star Taylor Swift clarified her political stance, revealing her intention to vote in the upcoming Presidential elections. Within a week after Taylor endorsed Kamala Harris, former President Donald Trump made a post on Truth Social where he claimed to be hating her.

This comment attracted widespread attention, and several celebrities and well-known personalities came to the singer's defense. Flavor Flav and Mark Hamill were among the few to voice their support for Taylor. Additionally, Liz Cheney, the former congresswoman, also tweeted words of support for Taylor. Cheney, who had mostly been known for her vocal opposition against Trump, wrote:

"Says the smallest man who ever lived."

The line is supposedly a reference to Taylor's song The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, which was released back in April 2024.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, at the MTV VMAs ceremony, Taylor urged everybody to cast their votes for their preferred candidate. She said:

"If you are over 18, please register to vote for something else that’s very important… [the] presidential election."

While talking about Taylor's endorsement of a presidential candidate, it is worth noting that not very long ago, in August 2024, Donald Trump allegedly shared AI-generated images claiming that Swift had endorsed him. The Guardian reported that back then he shared deepfakes of women wearing shirts with "Swifties for Trump" on them.

Taylor referred to these allegations in her latest endorsement post as well, where she expressed her fear of AI. She added:

"It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter."

The upcoming US Presidential elections is set to be held on November 5, 2024. Recently, Harris challenged Trump for another debate, however, no such confirmation has been made yet.
