“They don’t know music” — Fans react to The Rolling Stone ranking Kanye West's 'The Life of Pablo' as the 7th worst album cover of all time

Rolling Stone recently released its list of the “50 Worst Album Covers of All Time,” which prompted many reactions from the masses. In the list posted on July 19, 2024, the publication gave out the list of the “worst covers” to date, which included Kanye West’s 2016 album, The Life of Pablo.

The social media account @nojumper shared this news on X, leading to a wave of reactions from netizens who took offense to the listing, and the fact that Kanye’s hit album was on the list. One X user reacted to the post and said:

"They don’t know music"

As the account noted that the album was rated as “worse than Cappadonna's Black Tarrzann,” other internet users stated:

“Rolling Stone hasn’t has a good music take since 2010,” one person commented.
“That album is classic, another fan wrote.
“They just dont get it,” an X user commented.

Several others expressed similar sentiments and praised Kanye:

“Do they know how many people have recreated this album cover.” one person said.
“Pablo is Ye’s best cover and classic,” another internet user exclaimed.
“Who honestly cares what rolling stone thinks,” one person stated.

Apart from Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo, Rolling Stone also included other albums like Dolly Parton’s Bubbling Over, Three Dog Night’s Hard Labor, Ted Nugent’s Love Grenade, Crosby, Stills & Nash’s Live It Up, Creed’s Weathered, and Roger Daltrey’s Ride a Rock Horse in the worst 10.

The publication named Limp Bizkit’s Presents Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Favoured Water as the worst album cover.

Kanye West’s album Life of Pablo has made headlines again after being included in Rolling Stone’s list of “Worst Album Covers of All Time.” Released in February 2016, the album was Kanye West’s seventh studio album and was produced in collaboration with Jam Recordings.

The album consisted of 20 songs, namely Saint Pablo, No More Parties in LA, Facts, 30 Hours, Real Friends, Wolves, Frank’s Track, FML, Waves, I Love Kanye, Low Lights, Highlights, Feedback, Father Stretch My Hands, and Ultralight Beam, among many others.

For the album, Kanye West included many vocals from guest artists, including Kelly Price, Chance the Rapper, Ty Dolla Sign, Kid Cudi, Rihanna, Young Thug, Chris Brown, The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, and even Sampha.

As soon as the album was released, it became a massive hit, as many of the songs from the album started topping many charts globally. It also received many awards and nominations at the Grammys, MTV Music Video Awards, Clio Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, NME Awards, and even the 2016 Soul Train Music Awards.

While Kanye West has not yet responded to the inclusion of his album cover in the Rolling Stone list, social media users seem to be infuriated and are constantly commenting and praising Ye’s album cover.
