Everything you need to know about Missy Elliott’s Out of the World tour
On Thursday, July 4, Missy Elliott kickstarted her debut headline tour called Out of This World – The Experience Tour at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada. The tour is supposed to continue for the next two months across the North American continent before wrapping up in Chicago in late August.
Saturday was Elliott’s second stop of the tour at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena, and saw her perform several of her hit tracks including Throw It Back, Cool Off, We Run This, Sock It To Me, I’m Really Hot, Get Ur Freak On, Work It, and The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly) among others. Just like the Canada show, this one also had accompanying iconic stage visuals, dancing, and singing.
While Missy wore custom-designed outfits created by her friend and stylist, June Ambrose, including black capes and fluorescent green fur hats, she was joined on stage by her guest performers and collaborators Ciara, Busta Rhymes, and Timbaland.
With Ciara, Missy Elliott sang a duet of her 2005 hit number Lose Control, while Busta Rhymes and her sang along to the former’s 2006 track Touch It. Timbaland and Missy ended the concert with his 1997 iconic song Up Jumps Da’ Boogie featuring Magoo.
Amid this ongoing tour, Elliott is also set to host a special event at Jerry Moss Plaza in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 10, which is welcome for all her associates and fans. Titled, Missy Elliott Presents Party on the Plaza: An Out of This World Experience, it will be hosted in collaboration with The Music Center and Gloria Molina Grande Park.
The song and dance party is scheduled to open around 7 pm with an inaugural address by the host herself, and wrap up with a “can’t miss surprise.” In between, live DJs and Missy’s tour dancers are slated to entertain the audience.
Missy Elliott will be back on her tour on July 11 for a two-date performance at the Crypto.com Arena in the city.
